"If concert goers catch Covid how will we know if they caught it at the concert or somewhere else ?"
There'd be no way of knowing but localised spikes of detected infections would give a good indication overall, |

I couldn't believe this either. I'm sure Spain have introduced some tougher restriction to try to counter a rise in cases. Unless it's all media talk again.
I know you can't be having lockdowns and restrictions on seeing family and friends yet 5000 can get together for a concert. It just doesn't seem right to me.
I'd love there to be a way to get back to normal. If we could all take a test and carry os normal everyday that would be great. |

If this is a research project as they say, then it could be very sensible.
Hopefully it'll give an idea of the precautions that we'd need to take in order to return to events like concerts. Reduce some uncertainty. |

"The Netherlands are trialling Covid secure all inclusive holidays to Greece."
It's not exactly a holiday - you are confined to the resort for the duration, which isn't my idea of fun! We shall wait for life to be more normal because a holiday to us involves adventures. |

"Why are they all wearing masks if they've tested negative ?
Don't know, but just in case the test is wrong or they caught it between the test and the concert?
Bonkers if you ask me."
Seems the only rational way to have a concert under current circumstances, unless you want a super spreader event. |

Don't know. I assume, as this is a research project, they'll have thought of that."
Maybe they have a test/track & trace that didn’t cost millions & works.. |

If wearing masks meant we could get some gigs on here.... I'd be doing it. "
Yes.
I think for the purposes of research, it could be "what harm does this do in a low risk population with these safety measures?" |

The Dutch did a concert test last week, with everyone having their movements monitored, to then follow up later, to see if infections occurred. They tested negative beforehand and were split into 3 groups with different types of behaviour for each.
The results will be available for all countries to learn from. |

I've seen reports of a couple of concerts but no results. I need to go look. |

Although I don't think it's right timing for them I agree it will be interesting to see what happens next.
Knowing the testing we are having and how well the vaccine programme is going im positive - that maybe because I bought tickets to a gig last night though and I'm being cautiously optimistic. |

They've had a few I think but will be following the concert goers for some time, to find what their type of behaviour at the concert resulted in. I think I read that it should take a few weeks to process the data and analyse it, to produce the research results. |

as someone who works in the live music industy the pictures brought tears of joy to my eyes but would be a nightmare to get a British crowd to all wear masks |

interesting they went down the masks but not socially distancing route. They trialled some uk gigs last year that were strictly space controlled (penned)
what would you prefer social distance or masks? |

Depends who is playing, where and what the audience and venue are like, inside or outside... If its something mellow... Spaced... Of its more energetic... Masks and be closer... I miss hot sweaty mosh puts! |
