"Got a call tonight about Donating Plasma and would I be ok to drive an hour's to my nearest center.
Feel I should but would be 3 hours out of a working day. "
If you lose work and lose money then no |

"Why do the want it? Why are their supplies apparently running so low that they have to resort to cold-calling techniques to find donors?"
It because my plasma now has antibody' s so could save a life.

I've agreed to give plasma too.
It is precisely because I do have antibodies and I assume plasma can be given to a covid patients in intensive care whereas the vaccine may further stress their system when they are already struggling.
I'm a keyworker within the financial industry within which we have sadly had deaths attributed to covid, so I'm giving out of respect for colleagues lost.

Driving an hour for medical reasons is within the rules.
Only you can say if the 3 hours out of the day will negatively impact you financially or work wise.
If I could then I would as it does help people massively. |

I've had the same letter and happy to donate, I would do anything that may help sort this lot out, I may be bias as my daughter had a heart transplant so a big fan of donation and research knowing it may ultimately save a life. |

They're not cold calling donors
When you have covid you are xonta Ted by the NHS to ask if you'd be willing to donate plasma. You have the choice to complete a survey then of you fit their current need they contact you to go donate.
Do you think they have a never ending store of plasma just lying around that should never run out?! |
