Nope disagree they turn up park outside our house two or three car loads , go to the dry dock and stand talking with other boat owners whilst occasionally sanding their hull.
Nothing to do with disability, elite sportspeople just middle class boat owners from Surrey who think they are not included in the laws of the country that includes parking on double yellow lines.

We said IF they are disabled or elite, they can practice outdoor sailing. We didn't suggest they definitely ARE but it's worth noting that there are some exemptions for outdoor sports. I went horse riding yesterday at a facility specifically for disabled people |

Why is sailing elite? Goes to show you haven't got a f****ing clue"
We said if the sailors are elite, i.e professional competitors, then they are allowed to train (and compete). |

"From lockdown restrictions?
Coz all the fuckers at the sailing club at the end of our road seems to think so!!"
we have a boat... we are told we can only visit it to ensure it's safety if we think it's in some kind of peril until further notice. Seems like some folk don't get told the same rules, or maybe they just don't follow them. Either way, seems very unfair that some of us can and some of us can't.
Rant over lol. |

"The guidance/rules are pretty clear. You are supposed to stay at home, but can go out to exercise locally.
If you need to drive, it's not local enough. "
Unless you are disabled. Or an elite sportsperson. There are exemptions. |

"some of us can and some of us can't."... I think that applies to pretty much everything... Haircuts... Nails... Beauty treatments... Flights.... Holidays... To name but a few.... Life's not fair was the very first lesson I learned at secondary school. |

Yes, but the OP's description doesn't really sound like either of those things to me... |

"Are numpty Rangers supporters exempt as well?"
according to the 4 riot vans i can see watching them gather for a street party , set off fireworks in the middle of a crowd and drinking in the street (illegal in glasgow) - yes they do seem to be
i really really really hope one of the kids there doesn’t get hurt by a stray fireworks - their parents are muppets |

The yacht I sail with, that isn't the case. 4 to 6 people in a space, that you can't social distance in. |

I assumed he meant 'frigging'.
As in 'the rigging' aboard the Good Yacht Venus.
I worked that out by counting the asterisks! |

Yes, UK usually wins multiple medals at Olympics in the various sailing sections.
Then there's the things like round the world races."
Yes precisely, so (whilst not the being discussed here perhaps lol) elite sailors can still meet and train during lockdown! |

If they are not elite sports athletes, recognised by their national representative body, towards Olympic, Paralympic or Commonwealth games, then they should not be participating in their sport but remaining at home and not travelling, except as others do.
I would report people who should not be breaking the law and putting the health and lives of others at risk. |

"Apparently all through the restrictions you are allowed to 'maintain a capital asset' so you are allowed to a boat yard / marina to do so. "
and yet you are not allowed to go to a second home so that doesn’t seem to make sense |

It would be useful to have the full details of this, as everyone has largely stayed home unless not working from home, shopping locally or for medical appointments. If people could travel to their 'assets', this would have people travelling to many places. |

Essential maintenance of second homes, boats, caravans has been allowed through all the lockdowns. Overnight stays were not allowed, but some marinas have some that actually live on their boats as their main residence, so some conflict there. Thing is, what justifys an asset, a 30 year old sailing dinghy, I doubt it but 5 million of yacht most probably.

Sadly I have neither a second home nor a yacht.... So it's not causing me any trouble. Nor anybody else I'm aware of. #firstworldproblem |
