Is it time for a fifth series of Blackadder based on the current governments handling of the Covid pandemic?
Boris would not be Blackadder as he (Blackadder) was never the leader so Boris would be Melchett. Baldrick would be?
Other characters would be? |

Look I really hate the Tories with a passion but absolutely shudder at the thought if Corbyn had been in charge how much worse it could have been.
And let's be honest the same specialist's would have still been advising the government. |

Corbyn would definitely be Mister Ploppy
Sturgeon could be Mrs Ploppy

Sliding Doors theory.
Yes it could of been worse, it could of been better or same as. |

World war 1 happened over 100 years ago. Had anyone thought of making a comedy like the one being suggested here whilst the war was still going on, then they'd have been given pretty short shrift, as the memories would have been too raw.
Things heal with time, but I doubt the families and friends of the 122,000+ who've died would find it easy to raise a smile. |

As with all comedy...its all about timing.
Its definately too early and disrespectful to the memories of all those needlessly lost.
In time it will happen, I've seen blackadder goes forth used in school to teach about the absurdity of war...very succesfully too. Maybe the same can be done for this. |

The final episode is excellent. So skillful for it to be comic right until they go over the top when it becomes incredibly poignant. |

This was being used at an open evening, some people were not impressed but my strange mind had me saying it was perfect, the comedy held the kids attention then the ending was the part that got them thinking and discussing...my kind of teaching |

"Who would play nursie?"
Nursie: Out you popped and everyone’s shouting: “It’s a boy, it’s a boy!” And somebody said: “But it hasn’t got a winkle!” And I said: “God be praised, it’s a miracle. A boy without a winkle!” And then Sir Thomas More pointed out that a boy without a winkle is a girl. Everyone was really disappointed.
Melchett: Yes, he was a very perceptive man, Sir Thomas More |

What's amazing... If you add in the series yes minister and yes prime minister... Those things that were ripe for comic stupidity then are still just as comically stupid and accurate today in politcs 30 40 50 years on. |

With the budget recently I was reminded of some basic adding...
Blackadder : Right Baldrick, let's try again shall we? This is called adding. If I have two beans, and then I add two more beans, what do I have?
Baldrick : Some beans.
Blackadder : Yes... and no. Let's try again shall we? I have two beans, then I add two more beans. What does that make?
Baldrick : A very small casserole.
Blackadder : Baldrick, the ape creatures of the Indus have mastered this. Now try again. One, two, three, four. So how many are there?
Baldrick : Three.
Blackadder : What?
Baldrick : ...and that one.
Blackadder : Three and that one. So if I add that one to the three what will I have?
Baldrick : Oh. Some beans. |

We had this the other day and not 1 person could provide 1 example of how it could have been worse. |
