"French man fined for wearing flip flops on lockdown walk faces court hearing
According to reports in France's Sud Ouest newspaper, a man called Laurick, 25, went for a walk on 24 March 2020 at 4.45pm.
He was within 1km of his parents home in Saint-Medard-en-Jalles near Bordeaux, as per the rules at the time.
Laurick believed the walk was legal under the rules on physical activity because he was within 1km of his home and outside for less than an hour.
But police told him it did not count as physical activity because he was wearing flip flops not trainers – and he was fined 315 euros.
An extra 31 euro procedural cost has now been added, the paper reports.
A local source told Sud Ouest: "The situation is so grotesque, it's funny."
Laurick is now in the process of trying to prove he was right in court."

Lol if that gets hold up in court there is something very wrong! Hopefully there is more to the story.
Although fit bit may find themselves in trouble for counting flip flop steps as it doesnt count towards your 10k target |

"I’m pretty sure this is fake news.
He had socks on with flip flops in full camel toe mode and he was fined for crimes against fashion."
Seems to be a solid story it's in Le Monde . . . also add . . .
"French police have fined several homeless people for breaching a government order to stay indoors amid the coronavirus crisis, charities claim.
President Emmanuel Macron declared a nationwide policy of self-isolation on Monday, with all French people asked to stay home as much as possible and go out only for work, exercise or necessary shopping.
The measure is to last at least 15 days and people not following these rules risk fines from €38 and up to €135.
Homeless people were fined in Paris, Lyon and Bayonne, according to the charities. " |
