"They are holding the G7 summit in Cornwall in June this year in a small fishing town so will those coming from overseas have to isolate in a hotel for 2 weeks when they get here. "
It's not a fishing town lol it's a beautiful hotel on a beach surrounded by very expensive houses ... the delegates will being staying in a nearby hotel which is in St Ives ... which itself isn't a fishing town lol has a harbor with a handful of small fishing boats! But essentially is a tourist/artist town nowadays |

"Unlikely as the are on the exempt list at the moment
Why are they exempt can they not spread covid. "
There is a whole list of jobs that are exempt from quarantine.

Fantastic place out of season, love it. Seagulls are horrendous there ... flying rats!
A lot of places are going to be closed off to the public this June for a week or two and hopefully the campaigners/rioters that come with it will stay away too ... though doubt it |

It is a lovely place to visit out of season or at least off peak season. With the narrow streets and numbers of tourists there's no enjoyment for me in peak season.
Those attending G7 will be in the hotel and conference centre, so those hotels will be charging eye watering charges during the stay. Many others in the area already seem to have gone silly with the pricing as well even outside of the conference.
I'm sure there will be huge No Go areas and a pain for locals to get in & out. The tourist chiefs will say how wonderful it all is showing off the area & worth £x to the county as they have done with every event that ever comes here. If it truly brought in the amounts they've claimed the county would be rolling in money by now.
No doubt the charges for policing etc will be bunged on the council tax bills next year |

Oh it's awful in the summer!
Traffic's going to be interesting as the press & press center are in Falmouth, the conference in Carbis Bay (very easy to shut off to the public) with the delegates staying down the road, on the main road into St Ives! That's a couple of places to give a miss to for a month! |

"Gutted ... booked our first weekend away in 18months in Penzance only didn't realise the bloody summit was on at the same time. Grr!! "
Just keep away from the whole St Ives side/area ... its crawling with police already and we've found out most of the roads they're closing (yes closing) going to be a nightmare! The coastal footpath literally runs around the hotel it's being held so that'll be closed and the station and beach there! |

"I feel sorry for all the Janners, too many Emmets there.
Good for the economy but bad for ecology.
Let's hope ya'll get some peace next year."
The Janners will survive, not many tourists there ... the Cornish will complain lots and it'll give us something to talk about for years to come! Though we won't get any respite from the emmets this year! |
