"Due to this virus has swinging had its day and this was the nail in the coffin "
Not really. I think our lifestyle has taken a bit of a beating but it's not terminal.
It may take a while yet but as long as there are sexually motivated people there will be swingers.
Maybe slightly more cautious ones but we will still be around. |

We think it will take a fair bit of time for it to return to the levels it was at, for instance we love the club scene but we like many others won't be charging through the doors just because they are allowed to open, we'll decide when we think it's safe to return and that is definitely no time soon. |

I don’t think swinging has had it’s day but I do think there maybe less adult venues to attend as the majority have been closed for the best part of the year and as there are some that only meet at clubs these swingers may come off the scene however there maybe new swingers joining so the number will still be there it’s maybe a case of where they choose to meet home or hotel if the adult venue has closed down. |

There is a theory (can’t remember who put it forward) that we will in fact see the opposite effect.
Following WWI and Spanish Flu the west experienced a hedonistic explosion during the mid 1920s as people finally let off steam after so much suffering (saying that I suspect this was mostly a middle and upper class thing).
The theory says the same will happen once Covid is under control and we are back on the road to economic recovery - ironically the mid 20s again!
Let’s just hope it doesn’t lead to another market crash like 1929! |

Agree with that be fewer clubs , along with fewer pubs and fewer Restaurants but that off topic

it could very easily change many things long term and we must strive to maintain the society we need to live in. Human contact must return ASAP, carefully managed if needs be
good things could come of it.. will men wash their hands more often after a piss.. you never know lol

Like with every generation they will be differing expectations but this has been around during the whole of history including times of plague and persecution. It will survive, we all just have to our best to survive too, so Keep Safe and follow rules until they change. |

"Hell no! That’s like saying has in person shopping or pubs had its day. "
Perhaps that’s finished as well?
The future - stay at home watching Netflix, get food , drink & everything else delivered. |

Asia has the best public toilets . The sinks are outside the mains areas . So you don’t have to touch the doors after washing your hands. As let’s face it your more likely to catch something touching a door than your own willy |

Did hiv stop the gay scene. ?
Um....HIV is not just a gay thing.....just saying
Never said it was.
But people thought it would stop the gay scene . And it didn’t hence my post.
"
Seeing that HIV was prominently found in young gay men then yes your point is correct that it did little to "stop the gay scene" even when full blown AIDS started to be heavily reported. |

No but it changed behaviour dramatically. "
I agree the gay scene changed after aids for sure.. I think the old fab scene is surely done for?
Though there will be a newer one that emerges for sure just think things might be a little different than before.. Not really sure in what way though :/ |

Fab might not have had its day but I reckon going to the barbers probably has.
Men must have got so used to either using clippers at home or leaving it to grow long that the need to go and pay for it (haircut, not sex) will become forgotten. |

Look back at the roaring 20’s and you have your answer. After the Spanish Flu, which killed more than WW1, society bounced back and people just wanted to have fun. My guess is that once we are allowed to meet up again there will be a lot of parties and good times for all of us. The question will be can we all keep up after this long break? Only one way to find out, and that will be fun. |

No but when it first got identified it was termed the gay flu as it was affecting young gay men more.
But like how this was 'the Chinese virus' initially as that's where the majority of the infection was until it spread to other countries and was given a name.
The point of the comment was (I believe) that a deadly virus doesn't end human activity, we adapt to it and carry on. |

It's a virus.(like flu)
It will be seasonal.(like flu)
It will mutate like all viruses.(like flu)
It will effect the vulnerable more.(like flu)
It will NEVER be safe to meet anyone again...as it's not flu apparently.
