I think I was looking after my dad after he'd been in hospital with pneumonia. I have no photos from exactly a year ago, nor did I post on FaceBum. I can tell you that 14yrs ago, I was apparently trying to understand fimbriae (bits of bacteria). Good old FaceBum

Our daughter was looking forward to going to Austria skiing in February. She went and loved it.

We were looking forward to going to Spain in February. We went and also loved it.

We were looking forward to going to France in August. We went, and enjoyed it very much.

I wasn't enjoying the daily commute & was hoping to work more from home. That plan has also worked.

We were hoping to use the motorhome every other weekend, but didn't manage that.

We were hoping to see our parents more often, as they live some distance away. Had to make do with video calls.

On balance, it has been a strange year, but not too bad.

Our students were telling us all about it from probably late December/early Jan.

When I was in Vietnam in March I thought they were overreacting; closing down art galleries, museums, restaurants, then whole towns. Making us wear masks, sanitize, have temperatures taken. I now know they were doing exactly the right thing.

yes but what freedoms will they have to live.. was listening to the radio to some guy who lived in China at the time it came out and the majority of people in Wuhan lived in apartment blocks with only limited entrances and exits.. they basically had military on each door... that wouldn't happen in the UK... no cops anyhow
