Although my COVID test was negative, doctor says it’s likely a virus not bacteriological.
My workplace is very sensible, spread out, enforces masks, I went in yesterday morning and my routine temperature check came out at 38.6. (Obviously I wasn’t feeling ill or I wouldn’t have gone in).
I was sent home straightaway and got an immediate COVID test, and I’ve been under the weather since.
Anyway my point is, I, Chris, have been very sensible, socially distanced at work, hand gel, soap, masks, not seen my parents since March, not been near anyone’s else’s kids for weeks etc etc.
And yet I’ve still managed to pick up a virus....

Hoping you are feeling better soon - do let us know if it is Covid.
If it is I think it's proper to say that you may have still picked it up in your work environment or shopping etc etc.
That's the nature of the thing it finds a gap in even the best defences.

I got mine in March, and I was wearing a mask and locked down before Bungling Boris even though about it,- its Highly contagious, just touching a door handle or bog flush will do,also there are some very dodgy test results-both negative and positive around,-just assume you have got it and stay safe. |

"Or could be flu...? I had my flu jab Wednesday....but pretty far down the Covid list...."
Could be.
Last year was I think the healthiest I’ve ever been, no colds or flu, nothing.
I’m just baffled how I’ve managed to pick something up. |

Apart from covid and flu we are in peak other virus and colds etc..
We had something similar to covid late Dec 19 through to mid Feb which gave us both chest infections and was extremely tiring..
Rest op and get well.. |

I think it is this new variant there is much more transmittable than it was before.
For example I have been saying before December that I don't think The virus stayed on surfaces for as long as maybe we thought it did because I would have thought we would have been that seeing numbers like we are now.
I have no basis for this it is just my thoughts but I think that maybe now with the new variant the virus is a living longer on surfaces which is why more people seem to be getting infected. |

"So what do you do now?
Self isolate as per covid or carry on ?
If you go to work and they check your temp it will be high so they should again send you home.
"
As my COVID test was negative this morning, NHS advice is to be symptom free for 48 hours before going to work. So fortunately the weekend gives me a chance to bounce back. |

Could be your desk, work area, cup, kettle, door handles, etc.
I was told by my employer to wipe the desk and keyboard down before and after using it, even if I am only going to make a cuppa, use the toilet. |
