Interesting to read back, espescially those pulling flu deaths, as we now know it has killed roughly 2million people, nearly 100,000 just in the UK since march.
I was alert from the beginning and never once played it down, I see why some were not as concerned then, but always better safe than sorry |

I'm more interested that the same conspiracy theory tripe was being trollied out on that thread, even before there was much information about it in the UK public domain. If we think about what is now known about the virus now vs twelve months ago, that anyone could stick to those ideas is beyond my understanding. |

Unfortunately we will never understand why people have those beliefs. Maybe more should have been done at the start to disprove the conspiracy theories and we might have been in a better position now |

well look no further than our own government for playing it down. The first 2 cases in this country were 2 Chinese nationals discovered in York in January 2020. They were transfered to the RVI hospital in Newcastle. The head doctor in virology there found out that this was a highly transmittable virus capable of fast transmission between humans. Also not everyone showed any signs of having the virus. He said 3 out of every 4 show no signs of any symptoms. The government were warned of the situation at the end of January and apparently their stance then was, not to worry, this country could handle any crisis.and now we know just how ill prepared we really were.Why did we wait till March to do anything at all. These are not lies or conspiracy theories. I suggest everyone try to watch the program that was on ITV last night. The end findings on This program suggest that the very reason we are where we are at this moment in time are 2fold...
1)poor leadership and failure to listen to advice they had been given from various sources.This doesn't just apply solely to the UK. The west in general didn't take this serious enough.
2)the inability of every individual to behave themselves properly and go about things in a very responsible way.
Maybe we will all have to learn to live in a totally different way after this all ends.
