I don't know the answer to your question, however I did see in the news a couple of weeks ago, a scientist showing you how dangerous these places were for spreading infection. |

Clean the child's hands when they are finished playing what's the big problem?. Children need to play and play with others it's an essential part of growing and development, loads of children are still going school loads of parents are still working, shopping ECT far more chance of catching anything from thos instances then an outside play park while the kids get abit of fresh air and have some fun. |

" I must add I live quite rural so parks don't really get that busy I have no idea what city parks are like they may be compleatly different to what I see around me.

Outdoors is a safer environment for helping to reduce infection potential but this still requires other mitigating steps, otherwise it's possible to get it via close proximity or via contacts with intermediate objects.
The 1st lockdown had these shut, so it's wise to report anything that seems to be a risk |

I dont think getting them closed is the answer. Having someone around in a uniform would be helpful though. |

There's a few near us that have recently opened last week on way back from weekly shop noticed it was heaving, car park full and kids on every piece of equipment loads of parents standing round chatting or sitting on benches.
People even queuing up to get on equipment.
I understand kids need to play but if it's that important plenty of open fields to run amok away from others.
Also those that know Portsmouth area anyone noticed how busy Mick's monster burgers still is?
Car park rammed daily with queues of people at the burger van all day every day!! |

lids will play with an empty box , they dont need swing park equipment , when i was wee we played a scavenger hunt game with crap we found about the garden, some of it had probably blown out of the bin, we had 2 teams 2 camps hid all the bits and then had to try get then back from enemy camp without getting caught . cant for the life of me remember what we called it, but there was running and hiding and social interaction and problem solving and most importantly imagination... you would be amazed how much of all of those things kids have while young before society teaches them about all the stuff they “need” for entertainment |

Yes I was lucky enough to have had that freedom as a child as well, not everyone has a garden or a space to play in and times have definitely changed ax far as safety is concerned all I'm saying is that kids need to be kid's. |

Such a tricky one!
Many of the big more popular parks and play areas around where i live have been closed recently due to over use and crowding. Some people met and held a child's birthday party in one!
All children are missing out on so much at the moment though and for some (living in flats maybe) parks are a very needed release.

We took our daughter to the park at 4pm on Saturday and there was only one other family. Hands washed before and after etc. She had a great time. Our garden is grass and it's impossible for me to play with her on such a surface in the winter because it's like a bog. She had just over an hour of running around and having fun before we went home for hot chocolate. The answer is not to go at peak times and be sensible. |

Drove across Edinburgh 6th Jan on business, snow on the ground and about -2 temp, every kids play park area was packed with kids and adults, everybody will use the 1 hour exercise rule to suit their needs.
I see groups of adults on mountain bikes and out walking on my daily run, they are clearly not from the same household.
We saw in it summer when everybody hit the beaches and parks, people sat at home on furlough thinking fuck it I’m going out.
If not sorted by March / April then we will see the same thing happen again.
Fingers crossed the vaccinations ramp up |

So you think that kids don’t scream and shout and almost spit on each other when talking?
Saw scenes of this even in locked parks where they managed to get over the tiny fence |

i think the problem is there doesn’t seem to be a common benchmark for “sensible” ... you only have to read these forums to see the variance in public perception of the risk in all scenarios , and add on top of that a sprinkle of the know better but are selfish anyway ... it’s unfortunately why we always have to create rules for the lowest common denominator |

That's where the problem lies. So many people heading out at the peak times.
The local one to me was ranked with children over the weekend. Lots of playing together and heading back to parents for snacks & I didn't see any of the parents make them sanitise their hands. |

There's a reason we went at 4pm and stayed till it had gone dark. We knew it's be busy earlier. We're the family that goes to the beach on holiday at 3pm till 6 or 7pm, rather than fighting for space at midday AND turning into toast |
