So while the government discussed methods to stop the Brazilian variant coming here.. Its here!
Why are they always dithering? The virys doesn't dither
Will they finally act quicker in future? |

A Brazilian relative came to the UK in December. Her flight transitted in Portugal and they denied her entry to Portugal due to virus fears. She booked another ticket, direct from Brazil to London and was allowed entry to Britain. If the Portugese were banning Brazilians in December, why weren't we ? |

I'll be honest the really big one for me was people coming in from a another countries, now have to be tested before they come here
How on earth has it took them 9 months to decide that was a good idea? |

Agree with that... Also very dubious given our track record (and when I say our, I include leaders and citizens) of not doing as we should.... How many of those arrivals will actually be tested, how many that are tested positive will be prevented from travel or will travel and infect others anyway. |

On day one i posted something to the effect that all the planes should be stopped and that only vital travel be allowed, with mandatory quarantine (under armed guard if necessary) in airport hotels and the like.
I remember being shouted down by cries of "who's going to pay all that money for using those hotels?" and "we can't afford to stop those tourists". It's been a really sound economic decision to leave all travel uncontrolled hasn't it? I don't really like to say, told you so, but you know... |
