I keep seeing this mentioned on social media but what does it actually mean?

How would you fully lockdown the country?

I don't know what the government has planned, but I know they need to get on with it. The sooner, the better. No point in having weeks of a half lockdown, then deciding we need total lockdown when 1000s more are dead.

East Sussex

I've got no idea what it means and I'm guessing half the people saying it don't either.

Total lockdown would mean people dying of starvation in their homes.

Scotland

Depends who you ask. To some it's queuing to get in Home Bargains and to others it's tanks and machine guns on the streets

Are they referring to England, or 1 of the other states? To the social media brigade, anything above Tier 1 probably represents full lockdown.

At least with this lockdown, you don't have to worry about travelling between a lower and a higher Tier, so there's some simplicity now

I think it will be more on the level of the first lockdown... currently its basically no different .. or doesnt seem to be.

I didnt think as a lockdown the first one was that strict considering other countries versions x

Why do we need a full lockdown if 88% of people that have died from covid are in the top 4 jcvi buckets. Get them vaccinated ASAP; then do 50% of the next buckets then you have a large portion of the population that is likely to die from covid immunised

Talking about the UK but as has shown here no one knows what that means. We can't stop everyone from going places because there are certain jobs that can't just stop and that means that other services need to continue.
