I believe general public should be given a proper insight on how a Covid patient looks like in a hospital set up receiving treatment . How they struggle for one breath every second and how they suffer ? The NHS is full and overstretched . I heard a Chief Medical Director of our local hospital is living in a caravan inside the hospital premises for all emergency call outs.
Do we all realize this is a huge emergency ?
That's the only way they will realize that it's really risky out there .
What are your thoughts ? |

I think i have forgotten what outside looks like. I am driving my daughter to the dentist but will wait in my car. Its not fun, but it needs to be done. We do all our shopping online and just don't go out. Not meeting as its just not worth it.
I do it to keep me and my family safe.

So all these things that you have heard, do you have proof to back them up, as the official NHS England stats state they are no busier than in the middle of a normal flu season, we can all hear things and spread fake information if we want to, i think it would be better for all if true facts were shared, not "I heard" !!!!

Sad for some who spout about wanting facts when it's clearly hitting them in the face, going on all around them are more likely incapable of discerning what is fact and what isn't.
The inability to filter non fact, inability to distinguish, the inability to discern is sadly lost. Some because they are unable which is very sad and makes them vulnerable but for those who don't want to see the facts because it messes up their conspiratory thinking and their made up world view it's not worth responding too.
Pick carefully whom to engage with as sometimes the argument is lost even before it's started. |

think the invisibility of the virus is problem. There should be more visual proof to prove naysayers wrong.. also they should drag the conspiracy people out in the open and put them on talk shows so the best journalists can grill them

I would love to arrange a visit to the hospital locally which is absolutely packed . The ITU unit, the ward next to it is converted to ITU 2 and the Surgical Theatres got another ITU beds added in past two weeks.
It's not hear but first hand experience I am telling here . If someone is saying it's just a Flu season then they are just giving you a false hope of normalcy .
My point was , have you seen a patient suffering from actual Covid with respiratory distress ?
If you seen it then trust me you would be washing your hands every second of your life .
It pains me that ,there are absolute idiots who are still meeting just because they think they are their regular playmates .

It's not normal happening there .
It's something extraordinary situation,never been seen before .
The patient can't even drink properly because they can't take their oxygen mask off to drink in case their oxygen level drops to life threatening levels |

I had bbc news on all day yesterday. I think a journalist was allowed into a ward to show what pressures NHS staff were currently facing and how a 'young' woman, I think in her 30s, was struggling to breathe. Similarly, earlier last week they showed staff using ECMO and how it is very specialised but requires more care and attention to utilise for each patient. |

I've a daughter in Liverpool whom for the past 4 months has been suffering migraines and the medication has now been changed 3 times. She's been on the waiting list to see a neurologist since September.
Last night was so severe she said she was up most of the night crying . This morning a friend called an ambulance on the advice of the GP, 9.15, they were waiting untill 3.00 and now have called a taxi to take them. Reason GP gave for ambulance was that if she went straight there, she'd be sitting along in the corridor for hrs so might as well stay at home and at least will get some relief when a medical person sees her. Unfortunately that hasn't happened. Waiting to see how long it takes before any relief is given.
An everyday day accurance which is happening everywhere across the country because of the current pandemic.
So those doubters can believe what they want to, they can persistently lie to themselves but it doesn't change the reality in the real world, only inside their head. |

Some cases are harrowing that how people acquired the virus .
A lady who have five kids from five different men. So she had five bubbles.
She never thought that she will get the virus as she stayed in her bubble group.
Today she is lying in an ITU bed with CPAP on and repenting every second on her ignorance that she risked all these months .
They can't cry but you can see the years running on the side of the cheeks
No wonder the medical staff have a psychiatric support available all the time to cope up with such stress.

My thoughts are that it’s fatal to some, and I believe and trust the NHS, from data and perspectives of people I know and trust, so whatever I can do to play my part within keeping safe, and those around me, just sounds like absolutely basic common sense. |

Well one of your statements is correct, it is time to try something else, a proper full on hard lock down and complete closing of the borders. That's how the successful countries have managed it and is the only way. We could have been in the same position as the likes of New Zealand if we'd done it hard in the first place. Yes overseas travel and international business would have suffered but it has anyway, but everything inside the border could have gone on closer to normal. But as that didn't happen and won't happen we have to have these rolling half lock downs, because if we didn't the country would be truly fucked. I can't understand what people don't get about a contagious disease, they need to look up the word exponential. |

This no surprise what's happening now. Even the government knew it would happen now but the pressure they had placed on them to make Christmas happen from all sides was unreal. It's bang on time and it'll not improve for weeks to come.
I think we've come to the point where engagement with those who think is all nonsense needs to be stopped as it seems to just fuel their conspiracies.

 . Still can’t do basic math and still have no comprehension of epidemics? We saw from the start that without intervention and infections double every 4 days, hospital admissions do the same. If we had a doubling of patients every 4 days right now then people would have to be left out in the car park to die. But, you know, whatever, it’s only flu |

Can't compare New Zealand to UK as they are totally different countries with totally different circumstances.
Every major country in Europe (Germany, Spain, France etc) is in a similar position to us yet had arguably tougher lockdowns. |

The point was we all know how cancer patients look or suffer but very few are aware of what Covid patients suffer as it's a new disease ,which is why general public have ignorance about it and sometimes they put themselves at risk.
The purpose of the thread is to create serious awareness among people who are updating their status for play meets here on Fab .

Even worse when chemotherapy patients appointments are postponed these days.
That's when the mortality rate was high among cancer patients in first lockdown.

I seen it first hand my god it's heart breaking and very real if people was to see the Destruction .to the body and the family left behind,but sadly to say People are putting they life's at risk.
As some Of the population Carriy it around. On them its like a cold Touch something where pason who got the virus you can get it and if people keep not Listening we will not be playing for a long time and could Possibly kill the swing fun .
As we all like fun sex play high sex dive lol but is it worth risk to u friends and family u take it home ?
I lost my brother to it and he was Healthy man stay safe people one day we get to play again x

I don't doubt the seriousness of the present situation.
When giving the rising number of cases, the Government, are implying, that it is us, who are causing, a potential breakdown of the NHS, by not obeying, the rules.
What they NEVER tell us, is that at the moment,between 70,000 and 90,000 NHS,are absent from work.
How can any organisation, function effectively with such high levels of staff absent. |
