NHS still working well

I've been having some medical complaints for some time now and I've just buried it. Finally bit the bullet last week to see a GP and got referred for numerous tests. I instantly thought, here we go, this will take months...

Wrong, within week, all 4 appointments are booked and almost done, better than pre covid.

So if any of you are putting things off because you think you cant get in, dont! Go get checked, things are running fine.

Nottingham

Very much depends where you are and what you need.

One service I've been regularly using for *years* has been entirely suspended during the pandemic and won't be back until it's over, leaving me struggling along in the meantime with less effective treatment.

I've also been waiting thirteen months for an appointment for something else, and I'm fully expecting that to be rescheduled again because of the lockdown.

Definitely ask if they can get you in, sure, but don't get your hopes up too much either.

depends on what. I've had all the tests I was waiting for put off..and both mine and my daughters regular appointments have stopped for the foreseeable future.

I went last week for an issue that has been bothering me and was told that due to covid restrictions it would take longer to be seen.

Glad you had such a positive experience

I'm still awaiting an operation I was told I needed in January 2020..... so not all of us are quite so upbeat.

I have cancer which requires regular blood tests and consultations. During the first lockdown everything stopped however the consultations have now become phone consultations and the blood tests have resumed. It's not perfect but better than it was.
