Although we are home schooling at the moment we have a notification from school to say my daughter is to attend to have her routine year 9 vaccinations.

Should these still be done during covid, should they be done at the doctors?

We would have to travel over an hour each way to reach the school?

I feel I would be happy for her to wait until they are back attending school in person for this to happen.

I'd say they need to try and keep up with the normal children's vaccine schedule somehow, and mass vaccines at schools is a good way. It's an important set of jabs, especially the Meningitis one. If too many are missed now, they simply won't be able to catch up in future and children will go unvaccinated. Rates of coverage for many of the childhood vaccines has dropped massively during the first lockdown etc. Our daughter had MMR 2 in April or May (can't remember which).

Absolutely agree. A girl died at my university when there was a meningitis outbreak .

One of my son's friends died of meningitis when she was 16. It's a very serious thing and good we now have vaccines against many of the causal organisms (but not all sadly).

Doesn't your daughter normally have to do this every day ?

Yes she does, normally she has to get two trains and the journey is an hour each way.

If we take her by car for her injection it is also an hour each way.

She is currently being homeschooled due to the virus.

I haven't but I am going to ask them.

It it makes more sense to me if it is possible for her to have it there.
