Instead of vaccinating elderly people who's lives are pretty much over.. Wouldnt it be better to vaccine young people first who have their whole lives ahead of them and who are the future.. Bit of a controversial topic alright but it strikes me as the best thing to do to ensure the survival of the human race.. Discuss... |

People in their 70's lives are "pretty much over"? I completely disagree, they're living far happier lives than most of us, or were, prior to Covid.
More than happy to wait my turn and see vulnerable people (including my happy, healthy 80+ parents) vaccinated first. |

"you live your life to protect the elderly" so the elderly will be vacc first. younger people in large majorities can fight it no prob. elderly can't in the vast majority.

Well a person in their 20s has 50 years left if they live a clean life.. A person in their 70s has Less than 20 years left if even..
Theoretically The person with 50 years left has more of a right to a vaccine than somebody who has 10 years left |

I believe that people have the right to take their own life if they are sick and in pain and a doctor certifies your illness
I don't think the vaccine should be kept from elderly people just because they are old because quite frankly if I get to an old age I'd like to be cherished
I've had a best friend die at 18 so you can never tell when someone is going to die in fairness

I'm not even going to be drawn to comment.
Instead I'll give my 72 year old father, who is currently building his own home, a ring and tell him to set the trowel down because his life is virtually over |

South Dublin Area |
Chances of a 20 year old dying from it practically zero.
With the shortage of vaccines currently i do think all health care and nursing home workers etc should be first in line thats until we have enough to be used.

The mark of a civilised society is how they value all life including the vulnerable.
Excluding the people, who've contributed more to the economy than any 20 year old, from being vaccinated is NOT something I'd support. |

My mum is 74 and until February she worked full time. Who are you to say she shouldn’t get the vaccine. How do you know you have 50 years left? Are you a time traveler can you predict the future?.
You could be dead in 5 years my mother could still be alive when your times up it’s up. |

They are vaccinating the elderly and at risk first as they are the most likely to end up in hospitals with the virus whereas other people in the ages you suggest just get minor complications from it |
