Hopefully it's saying schools are open as too many parents have gone into meltdown already....me included

On a serious note, this home schooling is an absolute nightmare, our son is really struggling to get to grips with it and I'm back in work tomorrow. Children's education is going to suffer horrendously, how will they ever catch up to the level they should be at. These children are the future, and they aren't getting a very good start in life.

"Probably announcing we must not go more than 3 miles from home for any reason except permitted excuses. "

So it should be. People travelling from London to go walking in the Lake District was disgusting behaviour. Even more so when they needed to call out mountain rescue.

Exercise at home. Simple.

i feel sorry for Wales. i'm reading reports of how wardens in the national parks there are being abused by people travelling from up to a couple of hundred miles away in england, to go mountain climbing, snow boarding, trips to the beach and various other tourist activities as though it were a public holiday and generally causing a real strain on already overstretched rural resources.

i disagree with you. i think a year is long enough for him to have 'got a handle' on this virus. all parties of all home countries have repeatedly offered a coalition of equals to lead us through this situation only to be rebuffed repeatedly by johnson. he must consider his position in the face of such abject failure

maybe not, i agree. however johnson's best as you put it has been absolutely abysmal and it's costing the country dearly. it begs the question at what point do we stop the flogging of the horse after we've realised it is in fact dead?

The clue perhaps is in the word united, as in the united kingdom.

can i be totally annoying and disagree with you both?

i think the original post was meant or be a laugh and lets face it if we don’t laugh now we will cry ,

the man is a bit of a walking joke - he thrives and plays on that character has done for years and somehow it got him elected

but he was elected, we are stuck with him now and i totally disagree that he should just have got a handle on this by now ... no career politician wants to be known for just fucking it all up , so even if its only for his own pride he really is doing his best and i know lots of people think lots of mistakes have been made ... but the entire world are making mistakes just now ... some different , some the same ,

the rotten truth is for a while the virus is just smarter than we are wether we like it or not ... hopefully the vaccine will change that but if it mutates far enough its back to square 1

Well according to witty now, 2021isgoing to be a pretty grim year.some, Restrictions will be, around for a very long time. He, said they are now already worried about next winter. People who think we've, only got till march to go then hey presto we are free again are in for one almighty shock.

It's time for a, reality check people. A, professor this morning said that even with distancing, test and trace and the vaccines bringing some hope. We are here for some time as they are only part of the cure to beat covid. And should stupid adverts like Ryanairsjab and go really be getting shown. Surely things like this are giving people false hope.Sending out messages like this brings out the idiots once more. I ll have, a, jab then off to sunny Spain I go. If you send out stupid signals then stupid people will believe.

Can people cope with unrealistic expectations? People will only be in uproar when they realise what was 'promised' fails to get delivered once more.

to me its like climbing a munro ... for the last 2 hours every one that passes on their way down says its only about 30 more minutes...

and every peak you get to the top of you find another one on top of that

like i said id rather tell myself i just have to go this bit further now then deal with whats next than face the thought now of a full year in isolation
