With all the time 14-16yrs have lost in learning and socialising, do you feel it's worth encouraging them to choose what they might like to do as a career, that way they have a head start? |

In what way? I'm unsure how my 15 year old aspiring marine biologist might get a head start? |

My niece isn't sure of what she wanted to do but she's sat down with my brother and spoke about getting into fashion and cosmetics. She started doing some drawings and research and is thinking about lauching a business page on Instagram. She told us that being in lockdown gave her a new perspective. |

It is good for young people to plan and look forward. Research in to uni and what can help them get in. Lots of life is a journey and it's good to know where you want to get to and how to get there.

Anything you can do for that age group right now is a positive thing.
I have a yr10 young lady, she's upset and a yr12 first year A level student. He thought I was joking when I told him the news earlier. Lots of hugs and reassurance this evening seemed like a good place to start. But I do worry for their mental state  |

i think if anything people already have to “choose” what they want to do too early ... so many people end up stuck in a career they think its too late to change because they pigeon holed themselves in so early
a few of my friends completely retraining in their 30s ... there is no wrong path |

I knew what I wanted to do when leaving school, sadly all the areas I wanted to work in closed down.
I can see this happening to a lot of kids now leaving school, as some many businesses are going under. |
