I hope not. I'm hoping somebody finally does something creative, intelligent and constructive."
What do you want done that fits those criteria and also stops the current trend re infections and deaths? |

And it's done those other countries no good either.
It's become very apparent that some industries currently forced to close (most notably gyms and leisure centres) contribute virtually nil to number of infections whilst other places currently open contribute a significantly. This makes no sense whatsoever seeing as the benefits of the former far outweigh their (miniscule) risks.
In addition, blunt lockdowns are a bad policy because they undoubtably damage people's health. When a person is rundown (mentally and physically) they are more at risk of contracting a disease due to weakening of the immune system. |

Just saw that Scotland are keeping schools closed for the whole of January. I wonder if Drakeford and co will follow suit here now, as the kids are currently due back on the 11th |

"So is it only England left now out of the U.K that isn't in "lockdown?"
98% are in Tier 4"
I meant England as a whole
As I can see Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland have all implemented nationwide restrictions as opposed to the tiered system used across England |

For me that is lockdown.
Personally for me it’s far from lockdown, don’t really notice the difference except the odd shop closed "

Havent seen my family.
Didnt eat out to help out.
No holiday or days out .
I've done absolutely nothing for almost 10 months . My choice . |

What would make it a lockdown for you ?"
Stop takeaway drinks from pubs for one that just get consumed in public in groups on the pavement; stop the mixing of individuals outside and inside as some can’t obviously count 1+1 = 6; restrict when you can leave home to collect your food shop, back to the limits of one shopper per family (except those that need assistance); when you leave your home you must wear a mask and exemptions are challenged upon entry to food stores... I could go on but basically it is back to March |

So put a police officer at each store? Nobody except the police can officially challenge and that applied in March too. |

I go food shopping once a fortnight, as late at night as I can. Saturday I dropped my lad at his fathers decided to walk the 5 miles back as had been indoors over a week. I wish I hadn’t as what I saw was like a normal summers day |

T4..only make essential journey's eg for food,or medical reasons, or to work if you cant work from home . |

Without a ban on international travel or at least requiring those entering British airports to quarantine at an official quarantine facility where all essentials are provided (at cost to the traveller).. then all these measures are half-measures and causing more harm than good overall |

As per gov.uk
“Enforcement measures for failing to comply with this law
Premises where face coverings are required should take reasonable steps to promote compliance with the law.
The police can take measures if members of the public do not comply with this law without a valid exemption and transport operators can deny access to their public transport services if a passenger is not wearing a face covering, or direct them to wear one or leave a service.
If necessary the police and Transport for London (TfL) officers have enforcement powers, including issuing fines of £200 (reduced to £100 if paid within 14 days) for the first offence.”
So for me if I owned a shop I have the right to question those trying to enter without a mask and don’t show proof of exemption. |

The list of essentials is long as is all the things you can do outside with and without others. Not that people take a blind bit of notice of it |

Any leisure journey limited to 5 miles.
Supermarket shops done by 1 person, unless bona fide assistance is required.
Face masks mandatory for all in built up areas. Masks to be worn with face shields, except for certified medical reasons.
Schools shut until February.
We need to get tough.

The irony of someone who flagrantly broke their own rules a couple of weeks ago now politically posturing as they introduce tighter restrictions? |

Only thing Nicola done wrong was waiting until now.
Should have gone into lockdown as soon as schools closed for Xmas.
Would have saved countless Covid cases that we are seeing now and are about to see in the next 2 wks
As for Boris, he has done nothing right since the start. |

"exemptions are challenged upon entry to food stores" medical conditions are personal and private, if a lanyard is worn, no one should have the right to challenge them for being exempt. Not all disabilities are visible. |

anyone can get them. I even heard our store will give you one if needed. they are not Bullshit. if someone thinks they are too good to not wear a mask then chances are they are way to good to wear a lanyard. then it would be simple no mask no lanyard no entry. |

Hardly anyone wears a mask on public transport, I’ve never seen anyone fined or stoped for not wearing one yet it’s the law to wear one ? Same as most supermarkets, no one wears them , this should of been sorted out last year , but no people think they know better than medical experts, this will drag on and on because most don’t care |

Dear Boris ... please apologise for letting the DfL fuckwits enter Kent to go to the seaside.
Please arrange for them to be fined and there cars confiscated then crushed.
Please also confiscate seaside homes from second home owners and if they are in them line them up in the garden and shoot them. |

Well, it could be argued she announced it so much earlier than 8pm - and to come into effect at midnight tonight - in order to force BoJo into actually making a decision.
Let's face it, he's proved he's not the decisive type.
He's lived an entire life outside of the reality that affects the non-privileged; so, it's unsurprising he doesn't know what to do when things get tough.
He's so detached from that reality that, even having caught and survived the virus, he doesn't understand the stakes. |

That's not necessary. Just triple their council tax - on both homes - and use every penny to build houses for the homeless.
Nobody needs to die. |
