This means off licences, builder's merchants and garden centres could all have to shut their doors"

Off licences !!!! I may actually start a riot if that happens

But if they close will this inclued the sale of the same items at supper markets? Or in a year's time will it just be the big 6 left

To me meat is essential

And Gardening is good for mental health and food production.

Because most are convienince stores so sell essential goods like food, cleaning products etc.

Plus they usually only have one or two customers at a time so less likely to spread.

I suppose they fall into the same category as hardware stores (like Homebase rather than Screwfix or Wickes)

Supermarkets sell seeds. They sell compost and plug plants at the right time of year. Everything can be bought online too.

Garden centres possibly risky due to those who traditionally frequent them. But off licences and builders merchants........?

Won’t somebody please think of the wine.

People will only take so much. I’m surprised that British people have been so meek so far. A handful of protests up and down the country. But when the furlough money runs out I think it’ll be a blood bath. That’ll be fun. But at least my partner will be stopping in the UK for a bit

Who said anything about violence against people? That’s the second time in an hour you’ve just made up something I've ‘said’

I’m talking about mass disorder. Civil disobedience or whatever euphemism you can think of.

Northampton Somewhere

I think if more restrictions come in there will be a lot of anger.

The problem with garden centres is people go in to kill time, 4 plus groups at a time, touching everything, forgetting about the social distancing etc. Only hardened gardeners garden this time of year and they would know how to source materials they need. So don't start saying about mental health!

The other shops selling essentials (like Wilko, Poundland and smaller convenience stores) should remain open.

Maybe supermarkets should be encouraged to switch to Click and Collect systems instead?????

Spare me the sanctimony. Get used to what exactly? Clearly not read my follow up post either.

If you really think there won’t be open resistance come the end of furlough when there’s mass unemployment and recession then my personal belief is you’re deluded.

Then we will have to queue to get into supermarkets as we did in march to control the numbers shopping at one time.

The supermarkets sell what wilko and poundland sell so close them.

It's not for ever, things are not normal and we shouldn't be acting as if it is.

I wasn’t responding to you if you read the full post.

Your claim was I was advocating violence against people. I was not. I was expressing a desire to see open active resistance to the government using, admittedly violent terminology, but euphemisms none the less. I’ve used similar terminology before in the forums and you didn’t see fit to jump down my throat then.
