I had it 10 months ago. Definitely the worst sickness I've ever had. Hope I am immune now

Why did you get tested? Close contact? I hope you’re ok

I would recommend burning your mattress and boiling sheets for those who have the bad fever. I sweated 17 pounds in 5 days

It's a sneaky virus. People with covid and no symptoms carry it around the community unknowingly

I'd say all of us will get it at some point just my opinion. I was sick in June for about a week and I think I had covid. Never got tested though so I dunno but I was grand within a week.

Had a runny nose cough wheezing chest sore throat and a fairly high fever. It basically felt like a really bad flue bit more than the average man flue

What do you all think about the kids going back to school? I think it would be lethal, even though I don't want the child at home particularly as the next few weeks are exam season...

I tested positive after starting with a sore throat. The feeling of tiredness and general lack of energy was brutal. Still got of lightly as was able to stay working from home, so I was luckier than most.

How does it become a lethal I January if it was not lethal September to December?

I read a good article in the national geographic:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/api.nationalgeographic.com/distribution/public/amp/science/2020/12/we-now-know-how-much-children-spread-coronavirus

Islandic research has shown that children (up to 10/12 years) get and spread it half as much as adults and when they get it, it was transmitted from adults and not from child to child. Different story with teenagers. Any how it means schools aren’t the primary drivers of outbreaks, but cases will seep in and contribute to the disease’s spread whenever a country loses control of containing the pandemic.' I think we've lost the control over Christmas so it wouldn't be clever to send the kids back to school until the figures come down substantially.

your last sentence is exactly what I'm saying. numbers rocketed over the Xmas period so now potentially more closures until numbers subside. I'd even bring in additional measures in factories and probably close construction

I think the whole country should go into lock down closing boarders and airports to get it settled then go back to normal

the problem when it goes back to normal is it just jumps again. 10 months into this the only solution is lockdowns.

There are other solutions:

Model China, complete surveillance of every citizen, say ciao to freedom of speech and movement, forget about personal data protection

Model New Zealand, lock down until 0 and then close the door, whoever wants to enter the country will be locked into 14 days quarantine at a hotel. Not really feasible with the North and as a member of the EU.

Model Taiwan, I don't even have to explain that one, just forget about it, we would never ever have the discipline and organisational skill.

There was once model Sweden but it was declared 'death by covid-19', so not a goer.

Bottom line get that vaccine out as fast as we can... oh wait, the EU hasn't ordered enough respectively put their bets on the wrong horse because it was cheaper...

The astra zenica vaccine only has a 67% efficacy.. Only reason they are promoting it is cause its cheaper to produce and store over the other more effective vaccines that need to be stored at -60..

Is there any point taking it then?
