"once pandemics end, often there is a period in which people seek out extensive social interaction, and which Christakis predicts will be a second “roaring 20s” just as after the 1918 flu pandemic."
“People will relentlessly seek out social interactions.” That could include “sexual licentiousness”, liberal spending, and a “reverse of religiosity”.
Sounds good!

Such an interesting observation! I've always thought that there would be worldwide celebrations, but yeah, that's interesting!
I don't there wouldn't be a D-Day type thing where were all like "We beath COVID-19" but this slow reintegration into usual life. I never thought about the needle going so far over the other way! Very interesting. |

There won't be a day that is declared covid victory day or whatever.. covid will be around for years . Even with a vaccine.
The end will creep up on us with some getting the vaccine while others acquiring the much maligned herd immunity. Pockets will pop up around the world for years to come.
Unless it mutates too far for the vaccine to work. And thats the irony with lockdown . It gives the virus longer to mutate .

With vaccination of the elderly and vulnerable over the next 3 months and the natural fall off of respiratory illnesses in the spring, I predict a the figures will drop to practically zero through the summer. Then they will start to worry about a resurgence in the autumn. |
