What a load of old codswallop. "It's fine, no need to worry about lorries stacking up everywhere and the ports being closed". Yeah, ok. I'm sure the hauliers currently sat on the M20 or at the aerodrome are in total agreement.

the trouble is does anyone believe it because when Hancock wasasked about it in Sunday he had a very dubious smirk on his face. How many times have this government come out with totally false figures. Perhaps if you start saying it enough people will swallow it all hook line and sinker. Nothing about a probable vaccine shortage looming in January which some of our local MPs have brought to Hancocks notice now. They are grave concerns this will happen unless the Oxford one gets passed quickly. Nothing gets said about this. Hancock has got nothing to smirk about. He had presided over so many of the debacles we have had so far.

How do you allay fears when it's quite clear that certain goods and food WILL go into short/no supply if the lorries don't move soon? The CBI and various fresh produce processors are on the lunchtime news right now, saying there will be shortages. The thing is, we can survive without tomatoes and salad for a few weeks, eh?

It'll be any food/drink or goods that normally enter the UK in lorries. Lots of parcel companies have said things ordered from Europe via DHL, Post Office etc won't get through for Christmas. Lots of things are stuck, not just salads.

The main concern is if medicines get through, as we import many things, like insulin. I think much of those things are flown in and can continue, but I don't know.

We used to survive without them all winter when they were out of season.

Going without them for a few days, weeks or even months isn't going to lead to famine...

But how, it’s still one of those unknowns at the moment when it will be all resolved.

My concern is for those that need medicines and that there aren’t any shortages in that department.

That’s great news for those stuck either side of the channel, hopefully they get home to their families soon.

However, I don’t anticipate many trucks after the backlog will run as normal before Christmas. One of the larger UK hauliers has already took the decision not to send any trucks to Europe.
