"As a number of European and other countries around the world are placing a travel ban on the UK.
Just how is Santa going to deliver all his presents this year.... "
Actually it might just turn the tables elsewhere.
U.K. hauliers have been complaining for years about foreign drivers bringing goods over & then spending three four days taking internal National haulage jobs before taking a load back to the continent.
Unaccompanied freight is still allowed. So we will be the only ones driving on our roads. The Mainland Europe based haulage industry will be much more affected than the U.K. one as they usually outnumber U.K. registered vehicles 3/1 at least.
The ban will not last long probably due to it actually being worse for Europe than it is for the U.K.
You only have to look at France’s cock-eyed ban to realise this. Freight can leave France “So we can still export” but freight cannot enter France “So fuck you!”
It’s also being reported as a U.K. ban when it appears that with some countries it’s border closure full stop no matter where you are travelling from.

Watch the news then The Head of the French road haulage association has said it’s an unmitigated disaster for his members.
By the way I worked in European road Haulage for Frans Mass for fifteen years. Its shit for everyone but I don’t need to watch the biased UKcentric news to know who in this one area it will be worse for.

Also we were the first to public ally announce we have this new strain so pretty obvious some reaction would be forthcoming.
However Italy & others have now announced they have it, so I’d expect further different travel bans.

Yep & if it were possible the whole world would just stop moving about, but it’s not & it won’t.
I’m just sick of everyone else seemingly Alining this with “This is what will happen after the 31st” nonsense. Or saying “Whoa is us, Boris this that, Europe hate us”. Etc.
The fact France may shortly reopen borders could be A. Because someone has whispered in his ear that they’ve had it for weeks & not made it public or B. Business is more important than lives.
Either way it makes you think, Why would a ban be rescinded within possibly hours?

So they get to Dubai airport & are tested positive, where have they been for the previous hours? where did they sit waiting for their flight, they tubed it to Heathrow that much i do know.
At any point they could & probably did remove their mask to take a drink, eat a sandwich whatever.
Numerous events & places where someone positive could leave it for others.
So if Dubai stopped them getting in if they were positive it's hardly a cause for celebration really.
If no one moved about you could probably meet locally & still have people around for xmas go in the pub etc.
But they'll always be the one who the rules don't apply to, so we can't.
Anyway, i'll stick to Santa now..

"We are the leper’s of the world ... see who comes to our aid? Let’s face it, we’ve aided all of them in the past at our expense "
We've also pillaged much of the world too. What specific aid are you wanting from others in relation to this thread topic? More reindeer for Santa? |

"More to the point what's the government not telling about how bad this new strain is with all these countries putting on travel ban for UK
What do the leaders know they aren't telling us "
What difference would it make to you or me or any of us if there was anything different to tell us?
You do realise other countries have put restrictions on certain other countries too. |

This could become a bit of a humanitarian issue with truckers. No toilets, no wash facilities, food supply could become an issue. At the end of the day rapid testing facilities need to be set up in order to shift these thousands of truckers, mostly foreigners, many with little English. |
