"Why can't we pay more and get vaccinated amongst the first? "
I think the general consensus is that those who’re vulnerable are first in the queue, and that it’d be hugely unethical to allow someone’s bank balance to be a deciding factor for potential immunity. |

Because it could become a bidding war and not leave enough for people who are vulnerable as there isn't enough vaccinations to go around currently.
I have seen an advert today though, they are looking for volunteers to help with the rollout of the vaccine and, people to help with the admin and other needs to do with administrating the vaccine.
If you work 6 shifts as a volunteer you get a vaccine.
For people who are very keen to get to the front of the queue, that could be a way to do that.
it is a shame they are not paying people to help with those roles as so many people are stuck for work, but I guess there just isn't the funding available. |

Because thank god capitalism isn't driving the vaccine roll out and instead it is been driven by those most in need and the goverment plan is to provide free to everybody eventually
At least in terms of a singular country there's clearly poorer nations who will end up much further down the list due to cost and logistics.
Pfizer's (around £15 per dose
Moderna's Vaccine £25+ pet dose
The Oxford vaccine £3 per dose
Whilst not signed off the Oxford technology is more established, so the vaccine is easier to mass produce and doesn't have the same cold storage needs as the other 2 therefore this will be much more suitable for poorer nations with greater logisitcal challenges.

Do you want to buy the virus or the vaccine?
Assuming it's the vaccine, I don't see any argument in favour of allowing rich people access before older, vulnerable, or less well off.
The current prioritisation seems sensible. |

"Why can't we pay more and get vaccinated amongst the first?
You could but you have to buy a full pack 975 doses as they cannot be split "
Or being entrepreneurial.. find 975 people happy to pay .. |
