Just seen that footballer Andre Gray has broken lockdown rules by having a party AGAIN - after being caught and making a grovelling apology a couple of months ago too. He's apologised again but surely it doesn't mean shit? Rita Ora got caught having a party over the weekend too, as have quite a few celebs lately. They all apologise but they're just sorry they got caught. They are meant to be role models; a lot of people will find it acceptable to break rules because they saw their favourite celebs doing it in the papers... Losing a lot of respect for a lot of people lately! |

When you have money and status you can kill people and get away with it.
So why would anyone like ora or a premier League footballer worry about rules.
They won't be sacked or appear before a court. Look at that Kanye West, he flew into London, went to a fashion party with his daughter then went back to America yet the law is 14 days quarantine traveling into the UK from the states. Met police knew about it did fuck all.
But if you hold a party,even a small one or serve a beer 1 minute past the deadline you can bet vans loads of police will be on your doorstep fining you 10k.
Celebrities know the police will want selfies and autographs not to uphold the law. |

 Some stupid statement about how sorry they are. No they're not. They should pull them from their advertising deals. A £10k fine won't mean anything to them.

Perhaps a multiple of their income for the period of the pandemic would be an appropriate fine.
When the country is in lockdown, there are no mistakes made by people, there are deliberately broken rules.

No different than here or anywhere else. We elevate whom we want to elevate as adults but choosing good role models starts at home in the way we teach values and responsibilities.
Most are only sorry because they got caught. There's little deterrant for most things, it's business as usual even on here with many in front line services.

It's shocking tbh
I think the Scottish MP who wasn't punished by the police for knowingly travelling 500 miles on public transport after been informed she was positive for covid in some ways did the biggest damage.
Everyone I know cannot begin to wrap their heads around that one.
The fact the footballer has now been caught twice is a disgrace! How many times was there when he wasn't caught?
His club need to make a proper example of him now imo

In fairness though I do not necessarily agree with the decision, the said Scottish MP reported herself to the local police and admired the offence. It was looked into but But because the virus test on her was taken before the date of the legislation, police say the legislation does not apply to this case and so dropped it.
It wouldn't have held up in court if it went that far. |

Footballers live in a different world. Look at Jack Grealish’s recent faux pas. Hardly ever mentioned now since he pulled on an England shirt.
As I said on my other thread. My Insta feed is usually full of people living it up.
And on a local level the village pub didn’t shut they were just selective over who they let in.
60% of the fines apparently go unpaid as well. So what can the authorities really do? |

Why? There are many YTers who spread lots of positivity and acceptance. I've gotten a lot of motivation and advice on self-love and care from YT and social media influencers recently and tbh don't appreciate the condescension towards looking up to people in the public eye...
My post wasn't about whether or not people SHOULD look up to celebs, nor that all of them are bad role models. But rather that a lot of us, especially those my age, do look to them for guidance, and some of them need to start setting better examples - especially where covid is concerned. |

There's 13000 people about to lose their jobs and more because of this sort of crap. Politicians don't care - they still get paid regardless. |

Or serve a burger 4 minutes past, a couple of months ago a restaurant business genuinely got fined £10k cos the customer ordered before 10 but the burger was served after. For takeaway anyway....
