The media has been awash with negativity, doom & gloom for months on end. I was wondering what positives fabbers have made out of the various lockdowns, isolating, quarantining etc?
I've painted my house externally and decorated throughout
Had time to try out new dishes in the kitchen
Taken up reading books again
My garden has never looked so good
Had great zoom quizz nights with family & friends
Enjoyed listening to the radio (daytime television sucks) to name a few.
What positives have you found out of this mess? |

When we were in lockdown I loved it when nature took over.
They were more braver due to less people about and it was refreshing to hear the birds sing instead of traffic noise. |

I spent more time and attention on those that are important to me and far less on negativity.
I've grown happier and more confident in myself, quirks, poly me and all.
I took up running (waddling) again.
I finally got the kitchen all organised and painted - we bought this house three years ago and it needed doing.
I learned how fun being a quiz master could be!
Like a poster above, I loved nature - it became more apparent in the first lockdown when I really enjoyed the peace and quiet in an areboretum nearby.

I mastered the piano, learnt seven languages and became a black belt in Origami, I studied Transcendental meditation and help out down the soup kitchen when I can, I feel I’ve become a much rounder individual. |

I turned a lean to into a beautiful garden room with bifold doors, a slate roof, glass topped well and cloakroom.
Landscaped a large area of my garden. New drive, parking areas, path, patio and lawns
Plastered and decorated my annexe and house.
Converted the attic to create a lovely suite with twin sinks and a large shower adjacent to my room.
Air conditioned the house.
Fitted new widows to the sides and rear of the house.
Refurbished the listed window to the front and painted the railings.
Oh; I then had gender confirmation surgery.
Got divorced too |

Biggest positive for me was the lack of pollution. The night sky was amazing during lockdown season 1.
I walk my dog late at night and the fields where there's little or no light pollution were amazing.
Added to no cars doing doughnuts in the lake car park, and very few on the walk route. |

Definitely the nature and enviroment side of things:
Seeing images around the world of wild animals walking through normally busy cities
Seeing the clear satellite images where normally we'd see the air pollution
For me personally, I've learned German and improved my French language skills. Got all the jobs around the house done and fell in love with cooking again. |

You look great. It’s a long process though. I have a friend who is waiting for an appointment. Fx |

Made various improvements to the flat so its sale might realise a few more hundred pounds.
Realised how much lower the household budget can be if we’re not supporting our local hospitality industry on a near-daily basis, so
the flat might not have to be sold after all. And the clog-dancing people upstairs look to be going
Realised that I don’t miss the job I was doing - not that my employer knew how to deploy me in that role anyway. Now looking forward to finding something more fulfilling, if less lucrative. |

Apart from that, stayed fit by regular cycling loops of the capital and nearby, and worked on my practical and theoretical music skills. |

It is indeed. I gave up waiting and paid privately. It’s still took three years to get to here. I have my corrected birth certificate now though. |
