All over Fb this morning are posts from businesses, shops, events etc saying ' looking forward to welcoming you back on 3rd Dec' or 'we will be open from 10am on 3rd Dec'

Now, am I being thick here?

How do they know they are going to be open when the tiers haven't been announced yet?

, they are probably just making plans in case they can allow people in. Tbh , I think the majority of the country will be put into Tier 3

A box at end of your bed

We now live in a police state so I guess the state has told them already that it is ok to open.

I thought retail was being allowed to reopen in all tiers.

Hoping for tier 2 here where I am, we had very very low numbers even before the lock down so can't see a reason for tier 3 here but who knows

Ah that makes sense then.

I didn't know that. I thought it was dependent on the tier the area was in.

Fingers crossed, the figures are improving in Manchester but I don’t think it will be enough to get us out of tier 3, it is what it is though

Leeds

The previous poster is correct. All shops, hairdressers, gyms etc can open in any tier. It is hospitality venues that have the problem.

Same with pubs, can open in a way depending on the tier.... takeaway only, drink with good only or socialised distancing day at a table no food

Not much will physically remained closed or not to operate, except maybe evening entertainment, theatres, night clubs and similar
