I've mentioned and discussed a broad-spectrum flu vaccine several times, which has been under development at Stage 3 Clinical Trial. It was developed to prevent any flu infection, of the various flu strains, taking the guesswork and estimation of which strains would probably be prevalent each year.
It would have been great news if successful, as the first vaccine that would have done this. Sadly, its results weren't significant enough. This could have been a game-changer, successful against whichever flu variant turned up, saving many lives in those years when the prdictions are outflanked by another awful virus. So close, yet so far. |
