"Great news regarding covid today let's hope this is the end of this horrible troubled year "
not been to bad a year roads were quiet, loads of people got a long paid holiday, tourism in the UK had a boom, people spent more time with there family, saved alot of money and a lot of people had a more relaxed pace of life this year just not great for the few that died a slow and pain full death but other than that been a decent year

just try and have a positive out look not a negative one That's all only thing I have missed out on is meals out and going to the pub and we have only had a 3 month stint of them been shut so far. |

Everyone will have dealt with it in their own way. My mother has Alzheimer's and I haven't been able to cuddle her since March so for those of us not able to see vulnerable members of our family and hold them close, it has been an awful year. |

Well great news for big Pharma maybe.
Perhaps you can explain why a vaccine with all the inherent side effects (such as the many NHS workers who are fighting for compensation after developing narcolepsy from a swine flu vaccine that was rushed into service without the usual testing when the disease spread in 2009) is essential for a disease that has a survival rate of 99.8%? |

Mine died of vascular dementia in February  |

Tend to agree. Had the vaccine chat with a fair few people and not many were keen so might not be the silver bullet everyone is thinking. |

It's not the survival rate that's the problem It's the potential infection rate. This virus has an R-number of 6 or more, this is more than twice as infectios as most viruses. 0.02% of ten thousand may only be 2, but when you're looking at a billion, then thats two hundred thousand deaths.
There is also the long term effects to consider, it is becoming apparent that a significant percentage of those infected are having ongoing issues and the NHS are concerned that there's an unknown time bomb waiting to explode.

Totally misrepresented...
To quote the official NHS investigation into the vaccine:
“The researchers found evidence of a ‘statistically significant’ increase in cases of the disease (ie it was not likely to be due to chance). However, the increase was small. The researchers estimated that for every 500,000 people vaccinated against swine flu, there would be approximately one additional case of Guillain-Barré syndrome diagnosed in the province. In addition, while Guillain-Barré syndrome can be fatal, this only occurs in around one in 20 cases. Most people with the condition make a full recovery within six to 12 months.
The Telegraph’s story is accurate but its headline is arguably needlessly alarmist. Vaccine scare stories may help to sell newspapers, but by putting people off getting vaccines they could indirectly contribute to otherwise avoidable deaths.
Most experts would argue that the potential benefits of vaccination far outweigh any potential risk”
So in reality.... 1 person in every 10,000,000.
Eg: vaccinate the entire country and 7 may die. Everyone else makes a full recovery. |
