"Yup, we're booked in for midday today 2 miles down the road. This scheme will only work if everyone isolates when positive and if everyone uses test and trace, which they won't/don't, but I'm doing my bit" There's another good reason for the army doing the testing. ENFORCEMENT

No we have the option to choose a home test or a walk in centre as well. They are everywhere, so pretty accessible for most people

In all honesty are have never had a covert test so I don't know what they are like or how easy they are to do. But I do worry about the Accuracy of the home test because most people aren't medically trained. My understanding is that it has to be done in a certain way.

" I've been tested twice before and you are asked to do the test yourself at the test centres. You are given a sealed pack with everything you need and clear instructions. The testing probe is like a tiny wire bottle brush so it's very tickly. The main thing is that you swab at the back of the throat (around the tonsil area) without touching your tongue, teeth, cheek, roof of your mouth. Nearly everyone gags! Then it goes up your nose and if you're eyes aren't already watering, they will at this point. It's quite funny looking at people in neighbouring cars gagging lol If you don't swab properly, it comes back inconclusive, not negative. The fast test that we are using in Liverpool is reported to be very accurate. However, as this is a pilot, we have been told that if we get a positive test, we should immediately get the traditional PCR test to check the result, thus testing their accuracy

" Whether you do a walk through test or home test, it's done the same way. You have to swab yourself, once done, you snap the swab stick in half, put it in the supplied sample bottle and seal it all in the plastic envelope. The rapid tests are also being done in Liverpool, it would be good to get an opinion on that testing. This can only be a good thing to get us on the road to recovery and as previously stated, if you do test positive, even if you are fortunate enough not to have symptoms, please isolate.

" Had one of the 15 minute tests yesterday at the local pharmacy here in Paris. Free even though I am not part of the French health system. Swab up the nose then in to a solution for one minute then on to a plastic slide to wait for the red line to appear. Negative.

"I think it’s a great thing and hopefully a lot of people take advantage of it over the next couple of weeks. Especially as the seem to be double checking the accuracy of the new quicker test "

"Ok so we're back from the test centre. It was huge, well organised, plenty of helpful staff, no military (!). QR scanned, swab pack given with everything you need and instructions. Cars spaced out around the car park. Help on hand if needed. It was busy but not hectic. Spoke to one of the workers through a slit in our car window. He said they had done around 300 tests upto that point, which was 12.30pm. If all centres are that efficient and helpful, I can see it being easy for the people of Liverpool to take part in this scheme. My initial feelings are positive... let's hope my test isn't! Lol" good luck.

"We've just been for a test as part of the pilot scheme, and I have to say, we were pretty annoyed by the attitude of one of their members of staff. We went to the airport site with our 6 week old baby (obvs couldn't leave her at home), and whilst Mrs and I were parked in a bay doing the test, she (the baby!) started screaming for some food, so Mrs finished her test, then maneuvered the baby out of the car seat to give her some of her bottle. The screaming had the effect of steaming up all the back windows, so (being aware of the location) I cranked them down an inch to try and clear them ready for driving off when we were ready. Now this was the (huge) airport car park site, so with there being no-one else parked anywhere near, I didn't think this was a particularly unacceptable thing to do. Seems I was wrong though, as one of the stewards then came over and told me to close them again- I (politely) mentioned about them all steaming up, but she just repeated I HAD to close them, so I did as instructed, and put the blower on to see if it would help. Bear in mind I'm currently (temporarily) working as a supermarket delivery driver, so have to deal with my own fair share of idiots who can't follow an instruction, so I'm very aware that at this point she's just following their procedure, which I have absolutely no problem with. A minute or so later, whilst Mrs was in the process of trying to get the baby back into the car seat, the same steward, who obviously now has me pegged as a troublemaker given the dirty looks she kept casting in our direction, comes back over and tells me we have to get a move on, or words to that effect. I told her (through the closed window) that (a) I was waiting for the windows to clear, and (b) Mrs was trying to get the baby back into the car seat, which isn't easy to do from inside the car, but this steward was still making it very clear we were no longer welcome in our parking space. I waited for Mrs DIY to get the baby strapped in safely, then popped my hazard lights on and very carefully reversed out of the parking space with all the rear windows still fairly steamed up and drove down the car park towards the exit, when another steward directs us into another parking space. He then came up to the window (tbf, he was much more friendly) and asked us if we'd done the test before- obvs he thought we'd just come through the barrier *face palm*, so I told him we were trying to leave, whereupon he apologised and directed us out. Overall rating: tbf, the process itself was all fairly straightforward, and well set up, and every other member of staff was extremely pleasant- the experience was just made rather distressing for us by that one steward, and I intend to phone up and make a complaint about her attitude and the fact she expected me to drive off when it wasn't safe to do so, as it's left me feeling like I wouldn't want to go through it again. (But obviously I would- Anything to help get the Ents industry up and running again!)" Give some people a hi vis vest and they think they are in control of the world lol
