On a mooch

Local businesses are adapting, all our local ones have grouped together created a list of what they sell, whether they can deliver or click and collect over the next month. It’s about change and moving with it to survive.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

The pandemic has not changed how we shop, just brought forward the inevitability of online shopping as the preferred mode.

It has also driven many of us to shop more locally for everyday essential items which is why the Co-op have been opening new local stores in more central locations to homes while the big supermarkets have been forced to close their smaller stores which were not so conveniently located in petrol stations or on the outskirts of town centres.

Stores that have been forced to close need to look to other mediums to maintain sales, not necessarily going to the full expense of an all singing website, but simply by using either a Facebook shop or those e commerce sites offered for free or for as little as a few pounds.

Like most changes, they are cyclic and tend to revert back to old ways or a mix of both and I cannot envisage our shopping habits being any different as people decide they prefer to try on clothing or see the items before committing to making the purchase.
