Schools, little kids many of whom get no symptoms, get far to close and spread this (and other's) suoer quick.
It's no coincidence that it has accelerated since schools have re opened.
Is anyone expecting this lockdown to have any serious effect on controlling the virus whilst schools remain open?? |

Schools are doing their best but as we all know kids pass stuff on like no one else.
Groups of parents at school gates are impossible to police and keep apart even though most are trying (okay it is some years since i was at a school gate I admit).
Yes the education is important, but a month is not that long to be out of school, for goodness sake the summer holidays are 6 weeks, why not close them for a month; shorten some holidays this year. |

Exactly!!! Surely it wouldn't of been that hard to base the lockdown around the half term that's just finished. |

"No, because the lockdown is not tackling the root causes and hotbeds of transmission. "
Sorry, I'll make sure to sanitise my cock before meeting from now on |

Schools are still open in Liverpool. R rate is going in reverse and possibly below 1.
Cases in Scotland starting to drop. Kids are at school.

I work in education, and there are real mixed feelings from the staff. To a large extent, most really want to keep the schools open because they know how much difference even a couple of days off can make, especially in the last two years of secondary. For most GCSE subjects the amount of material that needs to be taught completely fills the two year course.
On the other hand staff also feel as though their personal health & safety is being sacrificed for political advantage. Boris previously said that there was no need to close schools because kids are at a very low risk, the welfare of the staff however is just not given a mention.
The small secondary school that I work in has so far had 7 positive staff tests and three students and the current research suggests that 1% of primary and 5% of secondary students are currently infected.
The flipside of the argument though is that any lockdown will be Less Effective with schools open.

Why? Are the kids not at school?
Overall, the cases have started to level off or even drop. Yesterday's test numbers was down which means either there was a problem with the testing or just less people were showing symptoms.

. You can’t compare Monday values from a Friday or a Saturday. You do realise reported Sunday and Monday numbers are always low. it’s the weekend slow administration effect. Watch the spike up today as they always do on Tuesdays |

I think parents are really trying, all around here are wearing their masks and following the one way systems. A month off probably wouldnt be a problem if they hadnt already lost 5 months of schooling of last year. They could always have tagged a week onto christmas hols and given three weeks maybe, Im sure they wont. |

Would the lowering test numbers not now be coinciding with half term? |
