So you can play golf solo, or with upto 3 others on a course. The new rules say you csn meet for leisurely excercise with 1 person from different house, so why the need to close courses. Can easily be booked on line, walk round and hit a ball. Can even remove flag so theres no transmission from that |

After the first lockdown golf courses were re-opened before gyms etc IIRC and it was great to get out on the course, despite certain restrictions.
There's an online petition with 156k signatures to keep courses open if you want to add your name to the list!
I suppose the only bonus at the minute is the weather is so shite most courses will probably be closed anyway. |

Golf England have said they will make a ‘respectful’ submission to the government. FYI, at amateur level, flags have not been able to be touched since golf resumed in May, it’s one of the many safety regulations that were introduced to allow golf to be played again. |

Ive also signed this, I can understand a limit to a 3 ball instead of 4 especially with the no touching the flag and all the other rules, I think local club golf is probably quite safe due to never sharing clubs and also the likelihood of not actually ever being next to someone else's ball. |

The proposal paper submitted by England Golf during the first lockdown, was described by the Minister for Media and Sport as the template other sporting institutions should look to adopt.
My GC has been rigid about adherence to the rules as they know finances are on a knife edge.....
Oh yeah, and we are the home of England Golf so need to really behave!! |

Premiership football.is very large part of the economy, there are no spectators and it's deemed Covid safe, amateur golf and clay pigeon shooting are hobbies and especially in winter forget it IMHO |

Because they are not outdoor ‘public’ places, by limiting leisure to public places only, no one will be able to play golf, shoot, play tennis etc, beach volleyball seems to be an exception and so far they haven’t said how far you can travel for leisure |

The Guardian says that the government is considering keeping golf, tennis and swimming open as they can all be done easily whilst social distancing.
A decision is set to be made on Monday or Tuesday. |
