So i wake up this morning and see this message from trump and i think great, exactly what the world needs to hear.

It makes a change from the 24/7 fear mongering media.

I switch on the news and see hes being slaughtered for saying it.

I guess the media can't be having people not living in fear (which by the way is another destructive factor of ones own health and immune system).

I log in here and see hes getting slaughtered here too (no chance there then).

I guess people want to live in fear and let it dominate their lifes?

It certainly seems so.

Well it needs to stop, it needs to end not next year or the year after, it needs to end now, today.

My brothers wife went to hug my 7 year old nephew last week and he backed off and said "no mummy i don't want to kill you" she asked why on earth he thought that, he said the teacher at school told him he doesnt do as hes told or if he hugs is friends that he could go home and end up killing your parents.

My brother was livid and went straight to the school to complain.

This living in fear and afraid to hug one another or even smile at one another and letting it dominate our lifes needs to stop asap.

So yes i agree with trumps message.

It's not about living in fear.

It is about living in reality.

Something neither Trump nor his supporters seem to get.

Well you shouldn’t agree with Trumps message, because it’s a bad one, shockingly so. Yes we should not live in fear but there is a difference between living in fear and behaving responsibly towards others in society. Our individual chance of getting seriously ill is low but we have to do what we can to restrict the virus spreading to others. Trump received treatments simply not available or too expense for many citizens. Trumps cavalier, selfish message will result in a significant and unnecessary increase in the final death toll both in the US and the UK.

So do any of you live in fear of getting cancer and let it dominate your life?

Do any of you live in fear of getting heart disease and let it dominate your life?

Do any of you fear catching the flu or pneumonia and let it dominate your life?

Do any of you fear getting TB and let it dominate your life?

Do any of you fear getting in a car and being in a traffic accident and let it dominate your life?

No ofcourse you don't so stop being scared of this and letting it dominate your life.

Or by all means carry on living in fear and watch as your fear and need of the goverment to make you feel secure destroys everything you hold dear as you wake up one day in a dystopian future wondering what the fck happened.

Obviously he doesn't know. But the fact he even considered it a possible is greater example of how stupid he is, than the time he wanted to use disinfectant and UV lights to cure it.

The OP's point was we shouldn't let covid dominate and control our lives and we shouldn't. We need to follow the rules and get on with life, if everyone did that people could work socialise and travel. Problem is people don't want to be told what's best for them they would sooner just blame the governments.

Do yourself a favour, look up just how many times trump has lied

Everybody lies, Vickers, children, adults, rapist, people with cancer, and yes other politicians.

But it's the volume. He lies constantly, and if your only retort is "what bout {insert name} he lies?" ttgen look up "whataboutery" was very successful tactic in Russian politics.

"As opposed to the sneaky lies told by other politicians?

Do yourself a favour, look up just how many times trump has lied

Everybody lies, Vickers, children, adults, rapist, people with cancer, and yes other politicians.

But it's the volume. He lies constantly, and if your only retort is "what bout {insert name} he lies?" ttgen look up "whataboutery" was very successful tactic in Russian politics. "

I'm not sure anyone on here disagrees with trumps previous. Just that if you take one message in isolation.... Its a good positive reminder to keep positive. That's all.

"So i wake up this morning and see this message from trump and i think great, exactly what the world needs to hear.

Your nephew shouldn’t be hugging his friends at school ..... seriously wtf

Don't be rediculous, kids play game's, play fight, hug etc

And should be encouraged to not told they will go home and kill their parents or grandparents."

They don’t at school atm ... sd is encouraged and rightly so. They absolutely should not be encouraged to be hugging thankfully you’re not a teacher

"The OP's point was we shouldn't let covid dominate and control our lives and we shouldn't. We need to follow the rules and get on with life, if everyone did that people could work socialise and travel. Problem is people don't want to be told what's best for them they would sooner just blame the governments.

The people whose life it seems to dominate are those that question the validity of the information we're given on the virus.

The 5G tower burning simpletons, the people moaning about bill gates and Soros etc. The tinfoil idiots.

Everybody else is just getting on with their lives as best they can, it's the people pushing on with life that will get us through this.

The only people making threads on a swinging site are the people who seem to claim "people need to get on with their lives"

Fine, stop fucking talking about it then.

So you do agree with the OP? Get on with life!

People are getting on with life

We just seem to get these type of posts every day.

Completely agree, the people who seem to talk about covid, are the idiots saying don't talk about covid.

They're clueless."

I think the actor Chris Evans twitter post to Donald has the measure of it.

"Don’t be afraid of Covid?! You’ve been under round-the-clock care by the best doctors using the best drugs. Do you really think everyone has access to that?! Sadly, I’m sure you’re aware of that disparity, you just don’t care." Evans added, "This is reckless to a shocking degree, even for you"

I'm sure it's very easy for Trump to say don't be afraid when the second he got his test result he was taken by private helicopter to a private medical facility with the very latest in medical equipment and treatments.

The average American can't afford healthcare, at all.

He is an irresponsible buffoon who is so out of touch with his county's issues it's staggering.

Currently, the ONLY way of treating Covid19 is not to catch it in the first place! Exactly the same as abstaining from sex or sexual contact is the best way of not getting pregnant or ending up with some STD. AIDS sent many people who`s lifestyles made them vunerable, running scared! It took years before cases of AIDS dropped and we now know how to avoid it, reduce it and treat it. We currently do not know how to treat the virus itself although we do know who to treat most of the conditions it magnifies.

Wow so I've just logged back in and seen and read a lot of these replys.

Why does everyone seem so angry?

I don't think either of my 2 posts in this thread was all that inflammatory, being told to "wind my neck in"... really??

I logged in to a few inboxes too, couple saying they agree and the rest to throw abuse.

How about we stop being angry with each other?

Heres a good little analogy i read recently.

A man walks into the dessert and finds and puts 100 red fire ants and 100 giant black ants into a glass jar.

At first nothing happens, so the man violently shakes the glass jar and then releases the ants, who then proceed to fight and kill each other.

Now the black ants are not the enemy of the red ants and the red ants are not the enemy of the black ants.

The real enemy is the person shaking the glass jar.

Just like society now everyone is fighting with each other.

Brexit vs remainers

Mask wearers vs non mask wearers

Liberals vs conservatism

Republicans vs democrats (US)

Blacks vs whites

And the list could go on and on.

Point is we are not one anothers enemy's.

Its who ever is shaking the glass jar for what reasons and what gain who knows.

But if we don't stop fighting amongst each other we don't stand a chance.

We don't have to agree with each other but we can disagree and be civil towards each other and not resort to name calling.

At the very least we can do that can we not?

This is absolutely what he meant. Fist pumps and triumphalist music are not a sign of positivity, they are are a sign of 'look how great and powerful I am because I beat this disease". It's the type of behaviour a dictator would use, and that's exactly where he is heading.

Trump is a very dangerous man. He's a danger to the people of America and he's a danger to the people of the world. Anyone who doesn't realise that is living in cloud cuckoo land, and they're in for a shock come November, whether he wins the election or not.

So should trump have stayed in hospital for weeks with all the press drama that would bring and irresponsible news bulletins claiming he’s on deaths door etc etc.... ? Showing that even with the finest healthcare money can buy, that Covid is still a probable death sentence .... imagine the turmoil that would bring and the mental health issues to the population there, and everywhere else for that matter... surely wether you like the guy or not, him pretending he’s recovering well is a better option ?

Why is that the alternative?

Why didn't he just go home, instead of making it a photo op?

People are dying, 100,000s in the US, and he's out here saying bollocks like "maybe I'm immune", they gave him experimental plasma?!

Immune.

Showing that even with the finest healthcare money can buy, that Covid is still a probable death sentence .... imagine the turmoil that would bring and the mental health issues to the population there, and everywhere else for that matter... surely wether you like the guy or not, him pretending he’s recovering well is a better option ? "

What he should do is act responsibly, which is certainly not what he is doing at all.

He could have said is something like "I caught this virus despite having the best testing available and that proves how contagious it really is. We all need to start taking social distancing and mask wearing seriously and perhaps then we can reduce the spread of Covid and help get things back to normal a little quicker".

What he actually did say was virtually the exact opposite, just to make himself look strong. He's a fool.

"Wow so I've just logged back in and seen and read a lot of these replys.

And report anyone giving abuse if that happened..

100% this.

That would be strong sensible leadership, instead he wants to divide his country further and further.

Almost like that is his main goal. I wonder what countries might benefit from Trump dividing America into a civil war?

Yeah, I agree there is a risk and reward aspect to all this, and eventually we will just have to take risks.

Medical professionals have for months.

But that doesn't mean acting like Trump is, essentially playing down a virus that has killed 200k in his own country.

"I hope fab removes anti-healthcare misinformation.

these thinly veiled political and conspiracist posts are getting outrageous.

wtf

you can wtf all you like.

trump and supporters downplaying the virus for months and now trump gets better in a few days.Going against his own government guidelines as per usual discharges himself.

Despite him looking unwell as he unmasked and could barely breathe.

his message?

it's basically to enforce his 'herd mentality'- he's a hero,a strong man and smarter than all the doctors and scientists around the world.

The OP's point was we shouldn't let covid dominate and control our lives and we shouldn't. We need to follow the rules and get on with life, if everyone did that people could work socialise and travel. Problem is people don't want to be told what's best for them they would sooner just blame the governments."

But it's the rules that do control our lives can't go clubbing and can't work in the theater. No tourists from over sea's so the covid rules have changed my life I'm getting on with life but I think for most it will be a dominate part of live for some time as yet....

Good swerve..

Btw, trump's borrowing will eclipse Obama's..

And yes it's a facile point to make but simply saying he or she borrowed X is never the full picture nor th only thing to judge a person by..

Nixon etc borrowed for Vietnam, bush borrowed for gulf war 1 and his son likewise for gulf war 2..

Such spending rolls on to the next administration..

Not sure I would class a guy who has been bankrupt as much as trump and who is refusing to reveal his tax returns as the best indicator ..

Agreed, the balance of the health of the nation and the economy is not one I would want to be sitting in judgement upon..

The rhetorical bs that is perpetuated by some and respect not yourself is borne from groups who are so intent with their various conspiracies that they are deliberately spreading lies and they don't care if the action of others following them puts their health at risk..

Being aware and cautious of something potentially lethal is not living in fear, refused to do that when we had terrorism on our streets and don't now..

The message has been a confused one and it's why we are now looking at more and stricter lock downs as people kicked the arse out of things when being sensible would have enabled us to move forward to before albeit with precautions..

From January 20 2016 to September 22 2020, trump has lied or made misleading statements over 20,000 times.

His lack of empathy and leadership for the US people has directly caused this tragic death number to reach over 211,000 and counting !

Not really. True I'm left leaning and would prefer a Democrat as president, but Trump isn't really even a Republican, he is a narcissist who puts himself above all else. He is desperate to hold on to power, because he can see himself being indicted for fraud when he leaves office, and that makes him very dangerous. Like a cornered animal.

He was a megalomaniac before he became president, but the last four years of possessing almost unlimited power, and getting away with clearly illegal activity has tipped him even further over the edge, almost into insanity.

You may think that I'm indulging in hyperbole, but look back in history and you'll never find another president who has behaved the way Trump is behaving now. Democrat or Republican.

Trump cares for no-one but himself and his ambition. He cares nothing for the American people, it's all an act for the faithful. He's a showman, but he is also a very dangerous individual to us all. I would sooner have anyone else as president, even G W Bush, and I never thought I'd say that.

"

Quick question......

Do you know how many people in the world are on the same cocktail treatment of drugs as the president?

The answer is “somewhere between 0 and 2” .......

It’s easy to be blasé if you have access to any treatment... he is not in the same position as the rest of us and his message was tone deaf and unsympathetic to those people who was been seriously ill or have died....

And if people do recover a lot of people are left with long lingering symptoms

I’m sorry all these people dying and falling ill have impeded your life.... when you have someone close that goes through the pain then maybe you will understand rather than being rather crass

I dont usialy get involved and dont read into conspiracys but it made sense to me when i seen the statistics globally which arnt that bad, infact a fraction on obesity and related problems which is one of the biggest killers and cost to the nhs, so how do we combat it? Give every one 50% off fast food Yep clear as mud, by all means if you have a health condition which makes you vulnerable then take extra precautions, which u probably do any way. Otherwise carry on as normal.

If we carried on as normal cases will spiral to all age groups, dont be daft that's simply not an option atm . We need to keep social distancing as well as the area lockdowns

"Wow so much hatred for 1 man (Trump), from so many liberal minded folk

So it's wrong to hate would be dictators?

Good job our grandparents didn't have that attitude, isn't it.

"would be" you got a private line in then?

No, I've got eyes and a mind.

Would you agree a slightly bias mind?

You may not agree with me, and you're entitled to your opinion, but I guess we'll find out who's right before the end of the year.

I had to read your post twice because the first time I thought you were describing Boris johnson"

Yes, well a lot of it does apply to our pound shop wannabe dictator too.

Facts are that it’s killed over a million and it’s just warming up, it has put people who wouldn’t normally have been in hospital on ventilators, struggling to recover for weeks after.

Using Trump as a role model, come on get serious, he is hardly the epitome of truthfulness, I hope he is fully recovered but I would be being very cautious if I was him. Oh I forgot he is being cautious, exploding his own staff to the virus while fully infectious to do a drive by.

None of us like this, the restrictions are alien, we all have our views. We have adopted what is hopefully coming sense and balance, we wear masks, socially distance, ignore the dozens of requests to meet on here and we embrace our families.

We were lulled into a false sense of security after the first phase and now we are all paying for the ‘its only like flu’ attitude of some who choose to ignore the facts, even if you don’t get it then please think of your family members

Stay safe

There is actually some truth to this. Many tests used in China and to start with in US weren’t designed for COVID-19, they were for other coronavirus’ so the warning was to say they might not be 100% reliable but we’re better than nothing. Since then tests have been developed and proven. So your fact is about 6 months out of date now

"

Liverpool is doing well at controlling the spread of covid then?

"Wow so I've just logged back in and seen and read a lot of these replys.

while i agree and have posted on a mumber of threads that people need to learn to find a middle ground and come together

the irony is your post was effectively shaking the glass jar

"Wow so much hatred for 1 man (Trump), from so many liberal minded folk

Perhaps there's confusion, personally speaking I find him abhorrent in what he has said previously..

For a country that has had some outstanding leadership in the past the barrel has been well and truly scraped however that's the choice made in 16, but hatred?

Nope, I think he has serious issues and with such goes pity to a point..

Are we including Obama in this list of outstanding leaders? The man who spent more money, creating more debt than all the leaders before him combined did? That isn't leadership that's putting the country at massive risk.

Clearly not in your book..

They all make mistakes yes but trump is beyond anything ever seen before, as a human being he literally is vile ..

Sure Trump says some stupid things, he's not able to hide this behind political rhetoric.

But to spend more money in 8 years than all the money spent in the previous c200 years, takes the biscuit in my book.

So your ok with trump mocking disabled people?

I just said he says some really stupid things

Good swerve..

Btw, trump's borrowing will eclipse Obama's..

And yes it's a facile point to make but simply saying he or she borrowed X is never the full picture nor th only thing to judge a person by..

Nixon etc borrowed for Vietnam, bush borrowed for gulf war 1 and his son likewise for gulf war 2..

Such spending rolls on to the next administration..

Not sure I would class a guy who has been bankrupt as much as trump and who is refusing to reveal his tax returns as the best indicator ..

What Obama did/spent has nothing to do with Trump.

Trumps bankruptcy and Tax returns are nothing to do with his presidency.

The borrowing may well eclipse Obama's but i think you are deliberately leaving out the Pandemic costs here."

so it follows we shouldn’t just talk about spending but they got for that money ... trump got 210,000 dead americans ... obama got universal healthcare

"So i wake up this morning and see this message from trump and i think great, exactly what the world needs to hear.

I think the thing that people in the media are trying to say is that they don’t want Trump to give people a false sense of security.

Yes we shouldn’t be afraid of Covid, yes we shouldn’t let it take over our lives.

However there’s nothing wrong with taking a few extra precautions by maintaining cleanliness, by maintaining social distancing because the reality is that it whilst it might not affect us badly, it may affect anybody we come into contact with worse, particularly the elderly.

So I agree with Trump, we shouldn’t be scared, we shouldn’t let is control our lives. But let’s just take those extra precautions so we can spend that bit longer with the ones we love.

"The man is an idiot.

Anybody who listens to him and says "yeah, that is rational sense" is also an idiot.

The man said "I might be immune", he's fucking clueless.

But each to their own, people do gravity to extreme density.

Trumps comment was "I might be immune, I don't know" "

His bizarre proclamations are often followed by a handy disclaimer such as 'I don't know', haven't you noticed that?

He utilised it when he made the bleach comment and it allows him to make outlandish comments and then retreat behind a veneer of innocence.

Frankly if he doesn't know he should keep his mouth shut.

"

As for trump.. Hes done some pretty shitty things. But the tagline op mentioned is nice and positive. If it had come from someone else everything would be saying how good it is to be positive in a really stressful time. "

..but it wouldn't have come from someone else and we're not going to overcome Covid by adopting a positive mental attitude.

Most other world leaders in a similar position would have been thankful for such a quick recovery and promoted the message of how serious it is, whilst endorsing the safe practices around covid that their administrations had implemented.

Whilst I'm no fan of Boris Johnson's he appears to have behaved responsibly during his own recovery and not been cavalier in his statements to the public.

"

Finally someone speaking sence, however I fear that if the people do not start to stand up and say...actually no your not getting to control us any more than it could go on for years, what they don't seem to get is that we get different strains of flu every year that kill the elderly, but we don't walk about frightened to talk to someone.

So I 100% agree that this need to just stop now"

Why do you think a Conservative government would promote measures which have a detrimental effect on economic growth and tax revenues unless it were essential to do do?

"Reality check

Average daily UK deaths

Cancer 450

Heart failure 460

Covid 19 19"

The average daily death rate for covid this year is approx 150.

I think your maths are well out
