Do you think the police will be sent round restaurants and pubs breaking up groups

Surely they have more to do ?

But there will be sneaks who will report establishments causing them to lose their licences.

Maybe Liverpool is in part of the 30% of the UK, boris wants to give back to nature. So he needs to thin the population out there first.

A few have been closed down south, you hear the landlords on the radio say they should have done more to follow the guidelines.

The leaders of 7 local North East councils requested that the government imposed tougher restrictions last week due to the increase in the number of infections. The latest measures are just a furthering of those restrictions.

This dated 14 September.

Newcastle City Council leader Nick Forbes said: “There is universal concern from council leaders across our region about the exponential rise in Covid cases over the last week.

“Unless we get on with this now, we are facing a bigger problem down the line which could end up in a full lockdown.

“It is better to try to introduce measures which will prevent that, even though that may mean some additional restrictions over the next few weeks.

“We are working with the government on a plan for what those could mean and how we can get those measures in place over the next few weeks to protect our communities and having to go into another prolonged, damaging lockdown.”

Coun Forbes added that it “beggars belief” that he heard reports of house parties being held in the North East over the weekend given the huge spike in cases reported in recent weeks.

This is true but unfortunately if the customers don't come in then they'll have no business left to worry about breaking regulations.

It's a fine margin when your in business for yourself.

No it was a gaff he made earlier today about the north east...saying people could not meet outside from two households.

Had to do a tweet to say it's against the law inside...and the outside bit was a guidance.

Nick Forbes said yesterday that the new restrictions Hancock has now implemented was not done in any consultation with local councils. He actually sprung that on them yesterday. I'm not on about what was said on september 14 th I'm on about what was said yesterday. And why we in Durham were lumped in With Newcastle beggers belief when the infection rates in other parts of the country outweigh ours greatly. We are not even in the top 20 places. If other places, in the country have a, higher rate than durham why are we one step away from a full lockdown up here, as usual we, the forgotten North when it comes to decision making. Forbes may well tell lies but Hancock has made many. Like when he went on the Andrew Marr show the other Sunday boasting that testing capacity was at over 200000 per day when in fact it was nowhere near that figure

You were lumped in with Newcastle because your council leaders requested to be, along with 5 other councils.

The leader of Gateshead council has just been on TV saying that these restrictions are what they asked for but that they wanted even further restrictions which have not been implemented. Forbes is even less trust worthy that Boris!

Pub gardens,... Good idea, just in time, for the, dark nights and colder weather. Maybe, all the pubs need to start ordering floodlighting for this. The whole of the n East will be easy to find. They will all be in pub gardens,. Social distancing will then go right out of the, window

Said in another thread,, all these restrictions will do is totally wreck lives,, homes will be lost millions of jobs and hardship on a scale never been seen by any of us before,.

You maybe thinking don't exagaderate, well I don't think I am I remember 83-87ish..and that was bad this will be much worse.

I think set a date.. In say a couple of months, then for 3-4 weeks enforce total lock down,, or just open the lot back up again and stop fucking about.

This is years and years of your lives you will never ever get back.

"These restrictions are impossible to police.

People say that until they get fined then they reconsider

Fines only work if you've got money to pay them, there's a raft of society right now who've got nothing to give, there'll be a whole lot more in a few months, what you going to do with them that can't pay?.

Deduct from benefits?

Or could be sent to jail...

Just so I get this straight, your in favour of sending tens of thousands of people to jail for stuff like going to they're parents, not wearing a mask etc etc?.

Better to take from benefits "

You think benefits pay enough for 1000 fines?

"

The more intelligent will more appreciate the risk so I think most will comply for the general good .

In Leeds organised amateur football matches are allowed to take place but there should be no supporters. Watching my son's team (illegally) last week were three teachers and a hospital consultant. "

That's an organised outdoor sports event so ok with social distancing and the fact its outdoors it's also common sense tells you that it safe .

Do you think people shouldn't pay fines, just because they do don't agree with it, tell that to the judge. People know what the laws are so no need to break them.

.

25% of the country right now couldn't pay that £1000 fine, they've got no money and no job thanks to covid restrictions, this has all been tried in history many many times before and it literally always ends with internment camps, civil war and Revolution.

It’s about time the government told a few home truths about the area’s in which the virus is so high mainly Asian populations, yes I know I will be shot down by the Karen’s and the snowflakes but it’s a truth that’s needs to be addressed, there are lots of asian businesses which have never closed its doors even in the main lockdown pubs factories sweatshops take a ways etc,

The law is law for a reason. Covid infections are increasing daily as are deaths.

Why not abide by the rules if there's a risk of being fined and not being able to feed your family. I have no sympathy for these people who blatantly abuse the rules then start bleating about not being able to pay for the consequences of their actions!

A gmnt advisor breaks the rules and barely gets a slap on the wrist.

A member of the family breaks the rules and the family cannot buy food.

Better to take from benefits

So you are happy to see families starve?

Why break the law, it wouldn't be a problem then. I don't agree with all laws, but I don't want to pay £1000 fine.

I'm not sure seeing a family unable to buy food as the most humane solution.

The law is law for a reason. Covid infections are increasing daily as are deaths.

Why not abide by the rules if there's a risk of being fined and not being able to feed your family. I have no sympathy for these people who blatantly abuse the rules then start bleating about not being able to pay for the consequences of their actions!

I'm not advocating people breaking the rules.

I'm suggesting taking benefits away from people who are already on the bread line could be a bit problematic.

I mean it's not like the police have made mistakes in the past is it?

My comment wasn't about the police it was about breaking the law regarding covid rules.

If you cant do the time ...dont do the crime !

I know it's an old adage but it's TRUE."

Better to take from benefits

So you are happy to see families starve?

No one is going to starve...... maybe they might get the latest phone update though ?

Ah good old britsh empathy and compassion.
