It's now a criminal offence not to self isolate
Whilst some of us will agree and some of us will not, is it now time for moderators to step up and stop all these posts about not isolating or quarantining ?
We're entitled to an opinion but we are not entitled to promote or discuss breaking the law and getting away with it. |

As you may know I posted a thread or two on this.
But the only thing wrong it seems is the law wasn't passed through parliament.
It's going to debate today... |

To be fair it must have taken him ages to keep checking the internet to get their names and then discover they are not on the internet because they are banned. |

"Conspiracy theorism posts should be flaming well banned on here. "
I'd go for that.
What started out as a useful forum has just turned into a pointless mess with absolutley no value to a sane person. |

Also a criminal offense for give false information about your recent contacts too I see, punishable with £1000 fine.
Also a £50 on the spot fine if you fail to notify your work that you are isolating too, this is to try to keep an accurate record of the virus in workplace and to help stop bosses who try to force employees to work, somehow I don't get that one.
Lots of sneaky little laws that hardly anyone will get punished for just the odd individual the media pick up on to scare us all |

Agree and made worse by the fact Fab prohibits the sharing of most academic sources of information to support rational argument/data eg scientific journals, but it allows links to any old shyster who runs a YouTube channel. Go figure |

I have posted this on another thread but I feel it's useful here too to stop some of the hotheads on both sides of the argument going off the deep end:-
The problem is we are a gregarious species
We like to mix and to mingle with others of our kind
It goes against our basic nature to be isolated from others
Its not that people are bad or deliberate law breakers
They are just doing what comes naturally to human beings.
Even in Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia and Maoist China they couldn't do that.
It can't be done. People will always find ways round it.
Like trying to herd cats. |

When we start prohibiting free speach then there is no more hope. Self censorship is the most insidious of all and the most effective because it changes how people think as much as how they speak.
Open discussion, freedom to share opinions- yes, even the ones you don't like - is the absolute cornerstone of freedom.
While fab are certainly entitiled to run their forum in any way they see fit I find this sudden desire to silence anyone who voices oppisition (both here and eleswhere) very concerning. |

Freedom of speech is one thing, openly claiming to be a criminal is another, inciting others to break the law is unacceptable in my opinion. |

Yes it's like trying to stop people from being LGBTQ. It's not going to happen is it ? Hopefully anyway. |
