No it's not. Would be absolute carnage. Go to work but do not socialise in anyway? Many wouldn't stand for it. Sturgeon has ordered folk don't go to different households in Scotland, it's being ignored. |

Seeing pictures of people not distancing after the pubs kick out in Liverpool and hearing of 21 students from Swansea (I think it was) who all caught Covid at the same house party.... so how many were there?
If track and trace indicates people need to isolate then 90% ignore it....
Perhaps the only way is another lockdown or just give up and let it run it’s course. |

It's been reported that only 18% of people asked to self isolate do so, so I think it's fair to say people are ignoring it.
However from today you can now be fined if you ignore a request to self isolate so we shall see... |

Compliance levels seem to vary a lot geographically.
Unfortunately this virus is spread best by social gatherings indoors. Not by responsible work places with good safety protocol in place. Not by taking public transport wearing masks. Its awful, and like most people I'm suffering. But it is what it is.
Am otherwise apparently intelligent and erudite young student was on telly yesterday complaining how he is now effectively locked in his student accommodation. But he also confirmed that he and his new buddies were all holding illegal parties over the last two weeks.
Literally no shit, Sherlock... Perfect storm for covid. |

My guess is a two week shutdown combined with a 2 week half-term then re assess results in numbers. No real let up until either all dead or viable vaccine... |

Scottish Governent during an FOI request confirmed they have no powers to tell people what to do in their own private homes

Pubs and restaurants have been open for 3 months without any jump in cases, if you want to close something to stop this spike it seems obvious to most that it's primary schools and universities that need to close?. |

the ones that were able to or thought it was financially worth it already did this in the fill lockdown, if you couldnt manage t back then you would have to close yours doors again now... meanwhile the rest of us were key workers or working from home so no change
this notion of social lockdown doesn’t exist ... what you describe is the “full” lockdown we had in the spring |

Johnson doesn't want lockdown and so other things will be tinkered about with instead. The no other households to be visited will come first.
Can they fix testing? And tracing? I'm doubtful. People have to be tested very early and quickly, with near immediate results, to get quarantine done and infections cut. Those are the obvious group who are able to infect others and to make a dent on numbers.
Invest bigger sums in paying people to quarantine too. Full pay is best. Keep unemployed with a bonus for quarantine.
The government don't want to lockdown but it probably should happen very soon. |

Social lockdown is purely meant in any gathering of people in one place for a period of time, ie longer than 15 minutes. So collecting food from a restaurant instead of eating in for example, collect your food and go home |

Bubbles are only bubbles if theyre exclusive, i.e. the people in your "bubble" aren't in anyone else's bubble. Otherwise we're all ultimately just in one big bubble together, which misses the point somewhat. |

You think there passing it on in the open air?.
Statistically that's actually the safest place to be, this year already saw very crowded beaches and crowded protests and the was no spikes, this 10pm curfew nonsense is complete crap and got nothing to do with lowering infections which even by the BBC's reporting only accounts for 3-5% of infections.
Schools and universities are where you need to concentrate if you really insist that infections need to be slowed. |

The new, regulations announced by the health Secretary for the North East.... Now, no 2 households can meet in any indoor venue from Wednesday. So if I go to a pub say and their are 30 or 40 other people in that pub am I not indoors, with 30 or 40 other households . How can pubs, restaurants cafes clubs operate with these restrictions if they adhere to these draconian measures. He has slyly brought this new restriction in just days, before they vote in parliament that no more restrictions can be brought in without it being discussed by all MPs first.
