I have compiled with government rules to protect the vulnerable at risk persons and my family.

I don't know anyone called Jack.

There is definitely a virus.

I personally have not abandoned care homes.

I still do vulnerable shopping and weekly check in visits with some elderly neighbours.

incognito mode ;-)

You are not the only one that cares, alot of us do,whether we work in the nhs/carehomes or any other jobs from retail to offices.Just because their not directly involved doesn't mean there not protecting the vulnerable

You need to chill abit, and just do your bit, rather than dictate to others

I work in a large nursing home, covid effected the home back in April,we all know mistakes were made,no testing was available etc

The government understands that well now,and are supporting the thousands of care homes

In May things started to changed a great deal

Our home refuses new residents till a negative test,we refuse to take any positive residents

Then a new arrival will be barrier nursed till a new in house negative test

Anyone with any symptoms are tested/straight on barrier nursing till negative etc

All Residents get tested monthly(too intrusive to do more than monthly)

Staff are tested weekly (if miss a test cannot return till tested so no shifts

More ppe provided we wear it constantly, visors and goggles provided for barrier nursing residents

Things have changed a great deal to protect our vulnerable

Life has to go on,as a mother of a child starting college, its necessary to get our children back to school,6 months lost, they are our future we can't wrap them up in cotton wall, till a vaccine that may never happen

We have to learn to live with the virus and take precautions

Mrs nerdy works for the NHS so has been protecting the Vulnerable before the media thought it was a buzz word.

Protecting those that need it has been the point of the NHS for over 100 years.

Just because some do it as part of their daily lives doesn't mean we all have to as well. She is trained, I am not. So what do I do, I protect her where I can and take the stresses of four kids and a house (I work too) from her so during the worst of it (which has thankfully passed for now) she got to rest.

Have we done enough?

Op no one doubts that you are sincere in your concerns, many others are and have tried to explain to you that they are and that they are doing their bit..

And let's be honest as Brits we are not into shouting what it is we are doing when we do good things like volunteering in etc but that does not mean as you infer that others equally are not..

You could try toning down the tendency to shout and to lecture and that will reflect in how people respond to you..

Take it easy..

Just sick of the same craic you keep posting.

The mrs works in one of the nursing homes that was abandoned by the government thanks to 3 patients going into it from the NHS and killing 21 in there.

So what do you do to protect them ?

Post on a swinging site.

Well done you

Personally I feel if you have to justify what you’re doing on a swinging site then people will lie or ignore.

I’m a teacher so I’ve been following the guidelines to the letter, not been in a shop, pub, restaurant or anywhere else indoors since March. I see it as my responsibility to be as covid clear as I can so I don’t spread it to all my litttle people.

I know I’m doing everything I can that’ll do for me.

Or you can keep digging...

I’ve also spent the last six months get my family as healthy as we can be - reducing the crap eating, losing weight so we can be as strong as we can be as a mother and teacher of primary school aged children I see it as when I get it now not if.

"Thanks for confirming some of you don't care about the vulnerable that was, point of the thread

Extremely saddening Selfishness, out there

Just sick of the same craic you keep posting.

The mrs works in one of the nursing homes that was abandoned by the government thanks to 3 patients going into it from the NHS and killing 21 in there.

So what do you do to protect them ?

Post on a swinging site.

Well done you "

OP

Who do you class as vulnerable? Is this just covid vulnerable or people say vulnerable to say financial abuse ? Plenty of cases of this happening current with people shopping for sick / or housebound

How about those with no food ? Vulnerable to exploitation ( sexual or slavery )

Or are you all about the zeitgeist which is C19

I've protected and cared for people who I know are vulnerable and looked out for others, who may need help.

A majority of people do care as they have stated on this thread, answering your original post, however you seem to find it hard to take part in the discussion peacefully, you always seem to rant as though your the only one in the world that cares, try listening to others

"What have you done to protect the vulnerable and at risk?

Or you I'm OK Jack look after yourself only...

Or the world is flat there's no virus fools

Are you proud as a country we, abandoned the vulnerable in care homes"

What have YOU done? How many vulnerable people have YOU personally protected?

Well that was one of the oddest threads I've read on here for some time. And on Fab that's saying something.

It's like the OP just fancied an argument with someone and that was the first thing that popped into his head.

"Personally I feel if you have to justify what you’re doing on a swinging site then people will lie or ignore.

Exactly this
