So it's ok for an organised protest in a public area such as Parliament Square and no organisers are carted off by the Covid Police....But have a party for 30 or more people or a wedding with 38 guests or an organised dance party...and wham...£10000 fine ?

Double Standards we think.

Not only are the XR mob disrupting Parliament but they are also bringing to a standstill major roads and disrupting work and local business in a time when every penny counts.

If they feel strongly enough then go grab a penguin and give it a cuddle

"You have the right to protest, you don't have the right to party..."

I don't think you have the right to blockade major roads hugging each other...

And you certainly don't have the right to pour fake blood over national landmarks as they did last time.

Surely the right to protest during social distancing is on the side of stupid ?

Is protesting during a virus pandemic not kind of a faux pas for a group calling themselves extinction rebellion ? Lol.

It's like people driving to protests then waving plackards about pollution, lmao.

boris's biggest mistake when mayor.

not keeping the water cannons.

this extinction rebellion lot are a bunch of hypocrites. they eat at mcdonalds. the so called celebs who appear at rallys fly from other parts of the world on jet planes to be there.

and they cause misery to the average person who is just trying to make ends meet and put food on the table for their family.

do they protest in russia? no.

because they would be banton charged by the police and beaten up by putin's skinheads.

china do they protest there? no.

because they would be clubbed and possibly shot by the forces and face years in labour camps.

yet china is the worst for pollution.

i see no problem in members of the public who are trying to get to work dealing with this lot.

hard working people have had enough.

It does seem a bit double standards.... Maybe if the "ravers" had a few placards for blm or xr or ravers lives matter they could pitch it as a peaceful protest and not get fined for it.?

The authorities allowed the Cheltenham festival to go ahead, infecting who knows how many in February? Allow the protesters at the blm to run riot, and vandalism of historic monuments, but heavily fine young people for a party, and fine corbyns brother for his protest, which was very small in comparison.

its something the rightwing have preyed upon for years:

disagree or point out basic facts and you are then in league with shapeshifting reptilian cannibals. This includes communists, socialists, liberals, scientists, muslims.

delve into the far-rightwing and all you are left with is utter hatred, sexism, stupidity and wilful retardation.

If only we could use..something like disinfectant, like inside, you know, the brain or body or something

cheltenham festival-10 days before lockdown, obviously a bit late

vandalism of historical statues-was it allowed and no arrests?

BLM running allowed to 'run riot' have their been no arrests?

Young people holding a party and get fined- why didn't they approach someone and ask about having a party, they did not because they dont fucking care as with many on the virus issues, even If they were spreaders of it.

Lastly Corbyn's brother might have well as held a holocaust denial rally, he said he literally denies covid's existence as its just a cold.

hope that helps out in your skewed nonsense.

Makes me laugh all this protesting to save the world I'm talking about out all the groups here, they go to these protests to say we ate killing the world deforristation, pollution ect ect ect while the vast majority get the bus to the protest, driving their car or taking a train to the protest, they go home and live in a house producing gas's and other courses of energy that have an effect on the climate, they pave their gardens and block pave their drive, removing natural grass and plants, shop in places known to be directly involved in organisations which directly affect the planet, they use mobile phones ect ect ect ... All the things that are harmful to the environment... if then genuinely cared they would live off grid

Living off grid or carbon neutral won't change anything

If you are believer in climate change then protesting and political pressure are ways to make their voices heard

For me now is not the time for this and unfortunately I believe many anarchists are jumping on the back of it

But saying they used a bus to get there makes them hypocrites is a bit of a poor argument

While I'm not part of the group I think your being a bit over the top there. The point is some of those things they can't avoid. Public transport can be more environmentaly friendly. Their point isn't to remove 100% of emissions so your off the grid suggestion is a long way off the mark. Their point is to take action to improve the climate.

it was drivel, mostly you made up or heard somewhere else for the annoyance of these protests, irrespective of the bigger issues of governments lacking in real climate change tackling as well as reversing many previous targets.

I know for a fact if these tree hugging hippies came in from their forest into the cities you'd be one of the first to call them tree hugging hippies that don't pay council tax etc

You really are missing the point. Your transport claim is weak. Public transport is less harmful so yes they can use public transport. Being on a bus or train causes no extra pollution as they would be running anyway. Their point isn't 0% emissions, their point is reduced emissions. A big difference.

When environmental collapse comes - which it seems ever more likely it will - the driving factors will be massive deforestation, industrial pollution and factory farming.

The control of these industries goes way, way beyond the power of the individual to change. Without coming together to pressurise governments, this seems unlikely to happen. XR are organised, persistent and make headlines. If that's what it takes,

a bus ride here and a Chinese telly there isn't going to put me off supporting them.
