Who here has been tested, and how many times?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Just out of curiosity like the title says, who here has been tested and how many times?
I fly from Seattle to Anchorage once a month, so that means I’ve been tested 10 times so far and it never gets any more uncomfortable.
The airport will not let you leave until you have a test, results take two days to come through, and in the meantime you have to self isolate. I’ve actually seen police come to the hotel I stay in and check that people are in fact quarantined.
It’s working, I think the last time I checked the whole state has had less than 50 deaths. |

"Wow, It didn’t occur to me that there are people who would be tested weekly, but thinking about it, nurses, medics, people who work in nursing homes would have to be tested often.
"

My daughter is a GP....tested once only in July (neg) but could request more. Her bf (doc) works in icu with covid patients. Tested every week from day 1. Neg every time as he "knows how to wear PPE". |

"we are part of the Covid symptom study group so first test done this week."
Me too I’ve done four tests so far the way the postal tests are sent back has changed first time a courier collected in full PPE now you have to post it yourself. |

"Got a test sent out but not sent it back yet. Had a slight temp and bit of a cough but think my friend who ordered it was being a bit ott "
If you have a cough and temp, then under guidelines, you must isolate. A test would at least give you a definitive answer and potentially release you from your isolation. |

Not a definitive answer.
The test does come back and say it only 80% accurate and just because you tested negative it doesn't mean you didn't have it and must follow all social distance rules and self isolate if you have any symptoms. |

Tested 3 times, all negative. I find the postal test thing where you have to post it through a post box a bit weird, symptomatic people with possible covid walking along the road to post their test does seem rather terrifying |

I think if you are testing as a symptomatic person, you are supposed to get a family member or someone else to post it. You're meant to do the whole leave it on the doorstep thing and get someone from outside your household to post. |

That makes more sense, not sure if it said it inside the pack when I did the test, although it was just for the covid tracker app so I would've been asymptomatic anyway |

"Never had a test and don’t like the sound of them. "
Oh people are just making a fuss, you just have to wipe the back of your throat and inside of your nose with a small cotton bud, how bad can that be!!
I was randomly tested in the Imperial College study, and then asked for another when I lost my voice, both negative. |

"I have been tested every week since May, there have been 2 cases returned positive at my work place since then. "
Both cases that came back positive were asymptomatic. |

I was tested once, never again, it's horrible and invasive and makes you gag. My test results didn't come back until I was released from hospital, they weren't even there as I was going for my op, that's wen I knew this whole Covid was a scam.
The results arent 100% anyway and nobody has stopped me in public because I'm not wearing a mask.

Your saying you had a test prior to going into hospital but without the result that the hospital still admitted you for a procedure?

My son and I were tested on Thursday. Both came back negative on Friday as expected. We both have the back to school lurgy.
He's now fine I'm in bed feeling rotten!
The test at the drive through was fine, easy and painless. However I did end up having to put in my work postcode to arrange it as under my home postcode all that came up was Carlisle, Dundee or Newcastle!
Worth trying different postcodes if you're trying to arrange one as that part of it seems to make no sense.. |

But then they are handling something possibly contaminated, thus spreading it? Nothing seems to make any sense about this. Rules etc seem to contradict each other a lot of the time. |

Which I doubt unless there was a fek up, had two family members and a neighbour who have had procedures at three different hospitals and all had to have a negative test result before they were admitted.. |

The test was done whilst i was in the hospital whilst they were deciding whether to operate or not, Prior to going into the theatre i asked if my test results had come back they said no there was a delay, and i was being prepared for theatre with no results back.
Had i not seen this for myself i wouldnt have believed it. |

"Not in supported accommodation your not tested .... not been all through it I work with mental health and drug and alcohol clients . Track and trace told me staff don’t need to be tested if they wear PPE .... this was after a client was in contact with someone who had it and then died , I was only tested yesterday as my son is displaying symptoms but hopefully he just had a cold . We sent the drive through last night all very smooth "
Friend had the same situation - listen carefully and then check again with real people in the field with any hype this government says. |

"Once . Positive back in April although no test was really needed as knew by symptoms I had it "
Just to add as some comments on here are pathetic.
It's a quick easy test not invasive and totally necessary |

Hospital staff are not being tested unless symptomatic. Too big a job to test the nhs.
I’ve had the antibody blood test and it was negative |

Tested yesterday as I've had a persistent cough, should get the results today. I'm pretty sure I'm just getting over a cold but better safe than sorry. All being well, back to work tomorrow |

Depends on role and if you’re on the Cambridge trial.
All our staff treating covid patients are tested bi weekly. The Cambridge trial volunteers are every week. Otherwise purely if you have symptoms... interestingly the civilian tests are quicker for results now |

Sure, but am I correct in saying, if for example an employee felt the need or Want to get tested.. They can take themselves off to a test centre or request a kit online and get tested in exactly the same was as any other member of the public? I'm kind of losing the understanding where personal responsibility seems to be lost and placed on some nebulous organisation. If an individual, wherever they are employed, or not employed, feels they should be tested... Then they can get tested? |
