Yes many countries now insist you supply a Covid certificate. Lots of online dr’s offering the service however they all seem very expensive.

Flying to Dubai at the end of August.

Can't you just forward them your email from NHS when get a free test?

It's wrong to demand a piece of paper costing £125 when you can get the test free

They require a certificate to prove you have had a negative test result 3 upto 3 days before flight. It has to be a Covid test which are generally around £100 & then the certificate is charged on top. This is what you require to hand in at check in!

Many people have gotten a test by simply saying 'I feel ill'.

I don't really see anything wrong with that.

Meh, I think they should be for the people that need them, not just for people who sneeze once then become a drama queen. This is the problem with people, just because it's there, doesn't mean everyone should use it when they don't need to.

"Hi anyone here know of a reasonably priced company who will offer a Covid test with Fit to fly certificate via Post? "

Any the only restriction is 72 hours , this is how we are doing it

1-book the flights, evening flight with option to reschedule like VA, BA scheduled flights not charters

2- book the test in the morning of the day before , early as possible like 8am walk in not postal

3- take the test, 99% you will have the result in tone and it’s current enough for most countries

You dont need a FTF Cert , who is saying this ? just a hyperlink by SMS to download and print your result . Make sure you have the usual things like yellow cards etc they are being super strict on these now.

You must bring a printed test certificate. A digital version on a phone will not be accepted

Sounds like some doctors and pharmacies are jumping on the bandwagon and ripping people off !

So much for our wonderful NHS - (and this is not meant to detract from the brilliant work the hardworking nurses and doctors in hospitals are doing); but some of the prices GP's charge for anything are crazy.

You will notice body temp scanners everywhere on arrival unlike uk , shops, offices, airports, also masks have been required by law since end of lockdown when we you are out so transmission is near impossible in UAE

Changed to 96 hours today! We have to supply a clear test certificate at check in Airport up to 96 hours before flight.

Is that to go in ? For out from Dubai to Kuwait they are saying 72 still I think , 96 is better , more buffer = less risk of having to reschedule flights. If test is positive though you will know the same day by text and need to cancel the flight altogether

Spoke to Emirates earlier as that’s exactly what I thought when reading it. They confirmed its for all passengers coming into UAE. You simply won’t be aloud to board the flight without the certificate. That’s a certificate & not a app notification as well!

Isn't the idea of the NHS to provide a 'free' service ? (Although we all pay taxes, or most of us do); but surely whatever you get the test for shouldn't matter. Or are we now saying holidays are not a valid thing to have, what come next ?

Boris and his cronies are reducing our freedoms enough as it is, and it will get worse people, not the virus, the restrictions on life !!!

Oh bloody hell, really? The NHS is a 'free' service for genuine health conditions, not for people to pretend they are ill to get a free test just for a holiday. It's taking advantage of the service and should not be allowed. If you choose to go on holiday during a pandemic you should pay for the test yourself.

As for reducing your freedoms, seriously? Your freedom to spread a potentially deadly virus? Your freedom to catch the virus? Your freedom to risk other people's lives because you don't like being told no? Do you think these restrictions are there just for shits and giggles?

I would expect saliva antigen tests to supersede current PcR tests and to be available pre departure in airports.

To be honest some airports are considering CT scanners as 95% of asymptomatic Covid infections show lung changes and this can be machine learned ( AI)

Looks like the airlines are aligning themselves with certain labs to do your test and then they can charge you like a wounded bull it’s looking like a licence to print money for them ontop it Yr ticket

They got people by the balls if you have an emergency and need to fly next it will the only 1st class flights available

It's about the countries minimising risk - better to have had your potential entrants who did have the virus and could be barred, from landing after a long trip, when they may have infected more fliers on the plane. It's crude but anyone with it is a potential new cluster of cases that don't ever happen.

Other countries are testing on arrival. Many airports are introducing thermal imaging screening.

Places like New Zealand and Argentina have had periods without flights, which reduces risk but impacts on the economy.

Cyprus require a certificate and won't accept the NHS sms result.

I think we should be paying for tests but there should be an easier and cheaper way to access them via government approved sources. If the international tourist industry is to kickstart, some kind of easy access to testing is needed.

Testing is a waste of time anyway. It's only good at the time of testing.

Been on phone at length with Emirates today. Everyone entering UAE from any country has to supply a Covid certificate at check in starting from 1st August.

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

Effective 1st of August, ALL passengers travelling to or via Dubai must take a PCR test within 96 prior to flight departure. You need to bring negative COVID-19 certificate with you and present it at the time of check-in.

You won't be able to travel without this certificate as mandated by the UAE government.

I hope this clarifies.

Kenza, Emirates Social Media Team

"Sounds abit dodgy to me since you can go out of the house and catch it on the way to post the text back.

Some airlines are demanding a cert'

Can't you just forward them your email from NHS when get a free test?

It's wrong to demand a piece of paper costing £125 when you can get the test free

Aren't the nhs ones only for people showing symptoms?"

People who "say" they have symptoms....nobody can check if you have a headache or loss of sense of smell.

"Hi anyone here know of a reasonably priced company who will offer a Covid test with Fit to fly certificate via Post?

NHS DRIVE THROUGH. You get a reply within 36hours

So using the NHS to get a "free" test to go on holidays is good use of public money ?

Isn't the idea of the NHS to provide a 'free' service ? (Although we all pay taxes, or most of us do); but surely whatever you get the test for shouldn't matter. Or are we now saying holidays are not a valid thing to have, what come next ?

Boris and his cronies are reducing our freedoms enough as it is, and it will get worse people, not the virus, the restrictions on life !!! "

. No NHS is not there to provide “a free” service.

And regards Borris and his cronies... conservatism is about pro freedom, small state it is totally opposite of the socialist/communist big state, restrictive freedom policies the government is being forced to impose.

Did you actually just say that ?"

Think he did Maybe he will think the NHS should contribute towards the holiday too, to help with mental wellbeing.

I would rather have my life restricted by “ cronies “ for a few more months, than face the alternative if this gets out of control again.

We only just dodged the bullet during the peak last time.

"They require a certificate to prove you have had a negative test result 3 upto 3 days before flight. It has to be a Covid test which are generally around £100 & then the certificate is charged on top. This is what you require to hand in at check in!

"

So all those conspiracy theorist who said that C-ertificate of Good health is needed for travel ( work, school)

Basically making it non mandatory but hard to get anything done... said this back in March.. is actually real and happening.

Potentially life threatening virus??? 99.97% survival rate. You have chance of dying falling out of bed really.

Restrictions are for shits and Google giggles ... lets see.... you cant visit family and socially distancing and wear maks but its ok to sit at a restaurant with strangers on other vtables and no masks and you're encouraged to do so due to 50% discount which tax payers end up paying for.

Because this is for your safety.

You can't sit with your family even with masks on but you can sit next to a stranger on the airplane.

Wake up

Maybe on ryan air you can however the flights I'm booked on have reduced number of passengers and they've left the seats immediately surrounding us empty

Some airlines are even having screens added between rows

There doing mobile testing in my area you literally just pop along tested and results within 48 hours.

Also there are no requirements to get tested, at the mobile ones.
