I think the government should sack sage experts and use fabswinger forum for the advice. Everyone on here seems to be a professor of virus Infection and knows more than they do. Just my view and somewhat tiresome comments dissing Boris and his professional advisors doing there best to get us through this. |

I think there's a discrepancy between what much of the official expert panels say, with what the official leadership push for and inform the nation of.
Any online forum will always have people who push their expertise as well as opinions. Some state their sources here but fab generally is only supportive of recognised media and news sites, rather than research journals, many behind pay walls.
Without citations, it's good to take most things as opinion. |

Weirdly enough such opinions always seem to have a 'leave boris alone 'slant.
So nothing at all to do with the fact that the whole pandemic has been handled like a chimps tea party and we have one of the worst death rates in Europe. |

I don't think I've seen many posters claiming to be an expert. This is a forum for people, who swing, to chat and discuss opinions. If you need cold hard facts and scientific discussion, I would suggest you look for those forums.

Bold statement made by the OP
I like these forums, and peoples posts. I don't always agree with some, and at times finds some peoples comments frustrating, as in why are they saying that, and thinking like that.
But it is their view on various matters, I don't recall any poster saying they are an expert in the subject they are posting about, and if they did, I myself may not believe they are an expert, that is my choice
So to finish, I want to hear peoples views |

Well we have 2 medical doctors with 40+ years experience and a PhD scientist whose work includes virology and an NHS nurse in our very immediate family.
Happy to relay their opinions that CV19 has an infection fatality rate similar to severe flu, deaths occur mostly in the elderly with co-morbidities. That death rates are now below the 5 year average and that the whole thing is overhyped nonsense (their words) with other agendas going on.
Feel free to disregard their combined knowledge though. |

He didn't lock down quick enough.
Flights ferries travel still went on..
Staying in but you can go out.. Wasn't lock down.
As for wearing masks. Why not the next day. Why everything 7 to 10 days later puts folk at more risk.
So my vote is with fab. More common sense
More knowledge. Regardless of source, (mostly the beano I'm guessing)

They did it so they could downgrade the amount and quality of PPE they were obliged to provide primarily to health workers. Also they could avoid other costly measures. |
