Not a chance I'm going to the pub anytime soon. Think how often you have seen leftover lipstick on a cleaned glass in a pub. It's not the staffs fault, equipment in a pub can be unreliable at times and the staff simply aren't trained to know how to clean things to the level required to deal with infectious diseases. I really feel for the landlords that need to make a living, but it's a risk too far for me personally. |

Be down the pub today have long weighed up the risk and it’s negligible ,those in high Risk groups or underlying health problems well that’s a different matter they will have to take extra precautions for the foreseeable |

I would much rather the virus fucked off. Killing the planet would cost more lives than the virus in the long run. |

As lockdown eases today, remember shit loads of people have died and many people's lives have changed forever. Remember to be 2m where possible and don't be piping each other off in the beer garden after hours. Keep your heads people, I don't know about you, but I have a very, very, tiny, miniscule, microscopic bit of doubt about this whole reopening pubs thing. I'd hope people are smart enough to not rush out, desperate for normality, but I've seen Brighton beach a few weeks ago. I've little faith. |

The risks to your health are negligible. That's ok then isn't it. Sod contributing to a 2nd wave and making the lives of those at high risk difficult again.
Of course we need to get back to normal but pubs contribute just 1% of the economy But will be high spreading areas. Keep them closed until we have really got this under control and people will just spend elsewhere such as alcohol from supermarket.

so the bar staff are wearing gloves and washing their hand in-between each serving ? No
and it doesn't kill every one that catches but its sure not helped the 529,405 that been killed in 6 month so far not to even go down the side effects

They sanitise their own hands between customers, wearing gloves is as good as a tin foil hat |

People call them Glasswasher in a pub... they in fact run so hot that they are actually sterilizing the glasses, lipstick does have to be removed by hand, we have specialist lipstick removers in our pub.
Also, we have staff designated jobs... i.e. certain staff only take orders and operate the cash register, certain staff only pour the drinks, certain staff only collect and wash glasses and others who only continuously wipe surfaces and sanitize, NONE of the staff are allowed to do ANY other job other than the one they have been designated. |

Don't think they was saying driving to the pub
It was saying we have been told for years use public transport where we can to help save the environment now we are being told to avoid public transport and drive where we can as it's safer and it would be the same with plastic glasses being used if it was safer |

I use hand sanitizer when receiving anything from another person outside . It's worked so far for me.

Thats fine and if you have health issues that make you vulnerable then it makes sense for you to stay in, however we cant all do that can we, all those essential services need workers and the economy needs to operate to pay taxes etc, for the huge majority cv19 is no risk in comparison to everyday life, we have been to a pub today, very well organised plenty of space between tables which were cleaned between customers etc, was great to be able to go people watching again, only had one drink each but less contact than in a supermarket |

Pubs and beer generate £23 billion towards our GDP and £13 billion in tax. Tax alone that approximately 10% of the NHS budget. |

Glass washers will do a good job of killing covid, as they too with all other bacteria and virus's that are present in pubs, if washing your hands for 20 seconds in luke water gets rid of the virus 15 mins in a glass washer at 65c will do the trick |

That’s actually not a fact. The risk of transmission via a surface of any kind is very low, although it does happen. |

So for not directing at anyone ... just direct at everyone ... I’m not a dickhead though I’m not fussed about going to a pub. Seems pubs are ok to go into by the governments standards or do you mean other medical health advisors ? Surely you’ve stayed isolated for 15 weeks to protect yourself.... not others.. carry on, help yourself! |

They don’t doughnut, 80 degrees would damage glassware. Your dishwasher might operate at 80 but not a glass washer If set to the manufacturers temperature. |

The reason lipstick is left on glasses is due to it being water-resistant and wax based.
Glasses go through a glass wash which should wash them at over 80°c. Any bacteria or germs will be killed at that temp. |

went past cpl of pubs down my high st yesterday afternoon both have the front doors wide open so u can see right inside.what i noticed was nearly everyone in the places was old.i thought they were spised to be some of the most at risk.seems to me most under 60s round my way are more than happy to have a beer in the garden with mates still rather than going to pub.the one that put its price up by 1 40 a pint seemed to be nearly empty.wonder how long before they put the price back down.another in the village just up the road from me has already done away with payment by card only as so many turned around and walked out the door when told they couldnt use cash |
