From listening to the radio phone ins today and the mayor, something doesn't sit right with this Leicester shutdown malarkey,I think the gov have chosen a nice medium size city with a clean round boundary to deliberately keep shut down for a placebo type effect so they can compare and crunch the numbers between open and shutdown. Okay they have chosen Leicester because of most poss test results, however there is no evidence of ICU or hospital uptake. |

Agreed! I’m not seeing any kind of uptake in any part of the country.
Infection rate is going up in parts of the country, but nothing is finding it’s way to the hospitals. Again it looks very much like this virus is getting weaker by the day! |

Dont get too comfortable with those figures, it has emerged that there is great big hole in the localised figures, it seems that local authorities have only been getting figures for pillar 1 cases.
Leicester is a great example of it, published figures show 80 cases between 13-26 June, Matt the Handjob has admitted that adding in the pillar 2 cases increases that to 994.
Other local authorities can expect similar misinformation to have been published due to the reporting systems, the local authorities have little chance of taking preventative measures in time to prevent local spikes. |

Not just high proportion of BAME but very elderly Asian is densely populated deprived urban areas - it’s really no surprise to medical professionals what is happening in Leicester |

The mayor received a direct phone call from Boris, just before or after his media apearence today, probably to tell him not to make waves, it was caught on camera he looked like a scolded cat.
They have still not given full data of the so called spike, no evidence what so ever of hospital or ICU uptick, they want us to believe there is no test poss spike in London after 3 weeks of mass gatherings from all over the place, fact is if they tried to shut London down they would have a full scale riot on their hands this weekend, Leicester seem to be taking it like a lamb

you seem to be entirely missing the point since if doesn't fit your view
you said the government want a control to compare the next phase to as “thats how we do science”
we could go into 10 new phases and it wouldn't matter, those phases are the new part, the control stays the same
if as you say they want to compare to a control, phase 1 was the control and it already existed march til june with loads of data results
a control group doesn’t have to run at the same time as the study
there is no logic or requirement to continue one city in phase 1 to compare the rest of the country to... one city doesn’t even represent the demographics of the entire country and therefore it would be a less accurate set of data than they already have

its a multi faceted issue that cant be reduced to one or the other... people trying to do that from wither side are not being clever or helping their case
there are POSSIBLY more people in households due to cultural issues
there are POSSIBLY more people in the type of jobs which mean they can’t currently work from home so are furloughed and hit financially (ie retail and hospitality) ,
there are POSSIBLY more people in the type of job that mean they are front line and at higher risk of catching the illness (hospital cleaners, at home carers)
both if those 2 options could be down to systematic racism that has led to them being unable to get “better” white collar jobs
there ate POSSIBLY genetic factors in how the virus impacts them biologically
once again its never quite as simple as black and white (pun intended)

George Orwell was so much ahead of his time. 1984 was written from his experience in the BBC during the later half of the WW2. Is was down to the fact that the BBC was a mouth piece of the Churchill goverment and the use of the BBC to promote propaganda to help the war effort. I have a friend in Leicester who witnessed today a full blown football tournament in a park with around 20 teams, all hugging and even trophies to be won. I don't think it's merely a question of race or location or culture, simply the matter that there is a huge percentage of the current population who are selfish and feel entitled to do what they want. Sadly historically stereotyped British arrogance is being made plain to see across the globe for everyone. This is the root of almost all our problems in this country which saddens me to say. |

Not sure about the football tournament in the city with that many teams. It would have been close down quick smart with everybody being so sensitive about the lockdown here. However just like some many large deprived cities we have had effectively free range young adult males doing just as they please with not a ounce of consideration for others. So when you have a large amount ot these adults living in large families with large age range with in the household there is no way the caronavirus will be controlled in Leicester. There has to be more control of the young male population. Yes kids at school have spread it as well but the have caught it from their older sibling. Not the other way round. Kids from small nuclear families are at much lower risk at school and not the super spreaders that they are being made out to be.
This is my thought on the subject but I am happy to be corrected. |

So what is the answer to stop the spread and spikes do the government take a hard line and lock people up till we have a vaccine

Should mention it was 5 a side sorry but yeh might not have been 20, he was pissed off so bound to have rounded up no doubt. Agree about young population but can't blame them entirely they have to learn this mindset off someone so it's an issue for both old and young in this country which is becoming habit as it is passed down. |

probably why harrow has been hard hit.used to go school in harrow so am over there seeing freinds a lot.the amount of 3bed places that have 20-30 people living in them is mental.the council and old bill know about these places but do nothing unless the property ends up being a magnet for trouble.mate sent me a vid of when corona kicked off over here.south harrow high street guy being brought out of a place paramedics all masked up and gloved up.house they brought him out of at least a dozen people came out the place with there bags and just wanderd off to where ever poluce didnt even try to stop them |

They have still not given full data of the so called spike, no evidence what so ever of hospital or ICU uptick, they want us to believe there is no test poss spike in London after 3 weeks of mass gatherings from all over the place, fact is if they tried to shut London down they would have a full scale riot on their hands this weekend, Leicester seem to be taking it like a lamb

The self rightous left have chosen to ignore and refuse there is a problem with industial r--- gangs up and down the country for over 20 years and they will chose to totally ignore what has been going on in leicester and so obviously happening in other places around the country but they will carry on about slavery from the 17 century and take a knee while continuing to bury their head in the sand with what's going on right now. I think if these were white business men they would be shouting about this at every oppotunity but the silence is the thunderouse from those hypercrites. |
