Europe has seen an increase in weekly cases of Covid-19 for the first time in months as restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the virus are eased, the World Health Organization (WHO) says.
In 11 countries, which have not been named, accelerated transmission has led to "very significant" resurgences, said Regional Director Dr Hans Henri Kluge. |

I'd say don't go out then if you're concerned. Just because we're allowed more freedom it doesn't mean you have to go to the pub or wherever if you don't want to. |

It was expected that transmission rates would go up surely? Why else has every country now got localised track & trace type systems?
It was about not overwhelming the nhs/individual health care services. You can't stop the virus, just manage the outbreaks. |

As this virus isn’t going to go away how long do you think people will stay at home. Not everyone can work from home and not everyone wants to turn their home into a prison cell. |

I think you'll find that much of the increase in the many states in the USA is due to the manic push to open up for business, for example in Florida, where things have been let loose for some time. There eere armed demonstrators shouting for relaxation in many places, supported and encouraged by the big orange one.
Where things are not managed, nor planned and resourced for appropriately, you'll find the situations like Brazil, USA and others. Europe had countries ahead of the UK for infections and their relaxations a bit ahead of the UK. It's very sad to see earlier work threatened, with the virus increasing again.
Very sadly, I sense that the UK is closer to the US and Brazil, than countries like Germany, which had more successful containment and reductions in their infection levels than the UK did |
