So....... this week we get a feel for how far we could go when we have low cases but no vaccination - and it does not allow any physical contact.
And to be fair, it is hard seeing this not being the case well into next year - therefore probably over 18 months since first lock down
It is possible this effectively means the end to clubs and meeting people to play for the foreseeable
Fair question - does this spell the end of swinging apart from a fringe, under-the-radar minority taking risks

Sex won't die out, until humans do and sexual tastes won't disappear, even when things are tougher IMO.
The Oxford University vaccine started more trials on 20,000 medical staff in Brazil, where the virus is growing in the population. This follows thousands of people vaccinated in the UK and many more thousands to come.
This vaccine is 1 oaf over a hundred in development and some or none of them may succeed. I'm inclined to be positive and think we'll get a success based on my wishful thinking. We might have a vaccine in less than a year, which would be positive news for sexual life and freedoms.
Clubs can adapt and offer a different environment. That discussion has been had many times here.
If the levels of the virus here become incredibly low, people will probably start to perceive it as a very tiny risk, unless they are in a very vulnerable group. If clubs are less accessible, swinging sex will carry on more elsewhere, increasing as the virus diminishes in risk levels |

Did aids stop swinging does any std stop swinging ?
For 95 % of the population cv19 is a minor infection for 3% it is nasty and for a few fatal.
Those are bloody good odds, especially considering how many people still smoke and that's kill 50 %.
Both of us are key workers and arent worried about catching it that way and certainly would be happy swinging with people we have met before as long as they were, if/when we next have a meet we will keep away from anyone vulnerable for 14 days just incase

Nothing to discuss. Life will go on, people will boink and some of us will kick the bucket in the process.
We can all sit here worrying about anything and everything, lock ourselves away and just not live if that makes you feel better but at the end of the day, this is just another nasty virus in the course of human history. Not the first, not the last and swinging has little to do with it's impact.

Well there are people who are waiting for the govt's nod to sleep with strangers ..they think that end of the lockdown means they are free to play .

Sars H1N1, and other viruses still exist without a vaccine and people still have sex, over time these viruses mutate to weaker forms of the original and will eventually burn out. I do think one day the world will be hit with a much more deadly unstoppable infectious disease that may end us but until then the human race will go on. |

End of swinging? Good question. I have stopped at least until middle of next year. See how things are then, before I think about venturing back. Nothing certain.
I think for a fair few it's signaled the end of the road, and they've hung up their swinging pants.
Some will defiantley dive back in for sure.
Will be interesting to see how it all pans out.
It might take longer for some to give it whirl.

Just the end of swinging in 2020. Clubs that survive will reopen next year and gradually people will start meeting again. A number of people will probably feel unable to ... But who knows. |

No rules against meeting for a socially distanced drink, play time may have to wait but at least you are getting to know people and when possible you arrange playtime at a later date. |

Wasn't swinging always a minority under the radar activity anyway ?

swinging will never die no matter what but clubs ?? well thats down to local councils and license's ...dont forget you only have to go back 25 years to see how few swinging clubs there were compared to today just like sex shops if your council didnt want one then that was that ..can see a few license's being pulled clubs and sex shops alike just from a brexit point of view |

Definitely not the end, some clubs are opening on July 4th, all be it under the guise of "social" however with the bubble rule

I saw some clubs said to be opening for socials only but didn't know of any specific ones, as they and the others deserve our support. It will be great to see the specifics.
How many things died out during repressive regimes? I'm sure none, so if it's just about personal judgement, it won't happen |

Smoking causes the death of 50% of those that smoke not 50 % of the whole population, of course passive smoking must cause the death of some as well, Roy Castle being a high profile example, at least with smoking bans passive smoking is less of an issue |

Would you expect a new couple who maybe met online during lockdown or who meet in a pub once they reopen next week to wait another year before they are allowed to have sex
People will likely be a bit more cautious, stick with people they know etc but they same as before this all started, we are all different what will work for one another would find to fast or too cautious
Must admit I wouldn’t be rushing to a club next weekend but that’s the same as bars and restaurants, I’d rather wait until the 1m rule is relaxed

Everyone will make their own decisions based on their personal circumstances and perception of the risks involved. Some have continued to meet regardless of lockdown, others are waiting for the guidelines to give them the go ahead, some will not return to the scene until they personally feel it is safe to do so (& possibly give more thought to who they will meet than they did before) & I'm sure there will be some who will not return at all.
I have no plans to meet for a while, when I do feel safe to do so it is likely that I will only meet with existing friends & whether I ever consider returning to clubs I'm not yet sure about. But swinging is just one aspect of my life, its not the be all & end all. I've no immediate plans to rush out shopping or to the pub either. |
