You'll still get a lot of hotels enforcing key workers and various other forms of checks to ensure they are liable for spreading corona around.
Don't expect a lot of places to magically open either. Travel lodges, maybe. B&B's? Depends how lax they're going to be with the rules. |

Hotels will be able to open to everybody from the 4th of July but social distancing rules still apply. |

"I reckon you can if you're in a bubble with him. "
It has to be an exclusive bubble though.
So nor the couple nor the guy can be having any non social distancing with anyone else. |

"I reckon you can if you're in a bubble with him. "
I think that's the right interpretation.
Just as from the start of this, we all need to continue to take responsibility for our own and others health and well-being. |

"I reckon you can if you're in a bubble with him.
I really don't understand why others seem to completely misunderstand these rulings?
Maybe it's just me "
I didn't understand it either until I started paying attention to the tabloids.
The gvt briefings are mostly clear. They're fairly well reported by the BBC, Guardian, Times etc. But the tabloids scream out "FREEDOM! BBRITS REJOICE! PUBS OPEN! STAY OVERNIGHT AT FRIENDS!" and don't actually explain what changes are happening or when. |

How can long term FWBs who don’t live together prove they are in a bubble? How can a couple non habitant prove they are together? |

Yeah, I've found most of them easy to understand. It's pretty simple really, don't be a dick by acting like a social butterfly and just be sensible. |

"My understanding is that it's all just guidelines now, not legislation.
So, you as an individual can do what you want.
Unfortunately, the govt seem to believe in the myth of common sense! " very true |

Social distancing still counts unless you are eligable to be in a 'bubble'. At the moment it's single people or single parents that are 'allowed' to bubble.. as in only seeing one other household without distancing.
From what I understand, from the 4th July it's ok for everyone to see one other household without distancing. Except if you are vulnerable and shielding. |

No you can see one other households at a time including staying overnight but still socially distance it's nothing to do with just the shielding group because shielding is stopping from the 1st of August anyway.
Unless it's a member of your household or somebody in a support bubble you still have to socially distance. |

Not ALL hotels are going to open on 4th July.
The larger chain groups and those individual properties will do so, but smaller groups & independently owned hotels will phase themselves in in the following weeks.
The hotel I work at, isn't opening till early August. Even then, we'll only be selling 30% of rooms per night, so we can maintain best Deep Clean standards on rooms.
I know an ex-colleague of mine who is Front Office Ops Manager of a Heathrow Airport Hotel. Their owners will only be selling 70 rooms per night out of 280.
So whilst hotels will open, they'll not be totally full. |

It's also not in place yet, so there's a less likely tiny chance that they will charge things, if the situation gets more dangerous. Several thousand new infections each day are happening.
The main reason that we reduced the infection levels was because we stopped spending much time with people who we didn't live with. Reverse this and it reopens the possibility of people passing ir on to others from outside of their home or even known social circles, when lots of strangers get together and start drinking etc.
I think it's a good time to watch and see how things go. We've made a lot of changes in a very small amount of time. Any of these could make things worse |

As a hotel manager I have read that anyone appearing to flounce the social distancing guidelines, we can call the police. Its not something I would want to do and I'd hope that people would still use commonsense.
