Chief Nurse dropped from the briefings for refusing to back Cummings

Tower Bridge South

“A No 10 SPAD [special adviser] asked her directly how she would answer the Dominic Cummings question and she refused to play along and told them she would answer the same way as Jonathan Van-Tam. She was dropped immediately from the press briefing.”

Breaking story in the Independent now.

GOOD. You only have the pressers to blame, they shouldn't be trying to drag these folks into the political fray anyhow, they just want to stir the pot for their agenda and click bait.

His policies contributed. And his actions shit on the graves of those people. Having the experts at the briefings lends more weight to the scientific messages that they're trying to get across rather that all the bullshit and lies. I trust her or Van Tam to tell me the truth more than the politicians.

The public have a right to expect their leaders to lead by example. Cummings and the rest of them don't believe the rules apply to them, only to the riff raff. Trying to pretend there's any equivalence between the protestors (or the clowns at the beach) and Cummings et al is disingenuous at best

The rioters should face the law like everyone else and be punished according to the law. What ever they are protesting about does not entitle them to commit crime

Government censorship, you get the chop if you try to tell the truth or question government policies or decisions or scrutinise their actions.

Same with daily briefings , using a mute button to cut people off from asking questions.

You asked where the source was as you said it was Karen on social media rubbish. I gave you the source which was the first hit on google when I searched to see if I could find anything on it.

You obviously don't have to believe it but I doubt everything that is reported is gossip or untrue

They said at the beginning of the year that there was a virus on the way that could kill a good many people, the naysayers called that gossip and untrue then too

I suppose we will all have to wait and see if a lot is true or not

... only small problem with this is, they did follow the science, and the science advised the timing of lockdown, despite the thought it was the politics determining when and how to deal with it .

The recently released minutes are providing a much clearer picture now, rather than the hearsay and rumour.

This is also gossip or bullshit until she really takes part in a press conference. And the press won’t miss the opportunity to ask her the right questions. Hopefully she will be allowed to answer the question and not gagged by Johnson as he did when Whitty and Vallance were asked about Cummings.

Indeed.

Only in time will we know if its true. Newspapers reporting what they think is hardly proof. In the Cummings story they printed stories that turned out to be complete lies and in the end were proven to be lies.

If its true then I share the outrage but prefer to await actual facts first

First question in the next press conference: When can we expect seeing mr Van Tam again?

This gvt is using all the tricks in the book to escape scrutiny and discredit the media. However 80% of what the Guardian revealed about Cummings was was true. Shutting Parliament was unlawful and the comparisons that we were shown between countries at the start during the press conferences have now been dropped! The fiddling of tests was an interesting manipulation of figures too. And counting a pair of gloves for two items was also disingenuous.

Yet, sone people carry on being brainwashed and refuse to see this gvt for what it really is: a bunch of incompetent liars following Trump’s footsteps. Soon, they will blame the scientists for everything!

In the meantime, keep calm and carry on reading the highly impartial Mail and Express. That’s where the truth is.

"Already had one minister try to pin this mess on the scientists. It's coming, don't worry."

There was a piece on the bbc website the other day where some families who have lost someone are calling for an enquiry already

The Truth? Newspapers?

The Daily Mail Rate as LOW because of numerous failed Facts Checks at Media Bias.

The Daily Express only a little better at MIXED and a few poorly checked facts. Also they are into Conspiracy reporting.

That's actually where your problem is.

The government would appear more credible if they actually allowed dissent from those experts who disagree with them, rather than giving them the silent treatment. Some of their MPs do it publicly on occasion.

As the USA trade deal gets the UK increasingly subject to all demands, perhaps this US Trump style leadership is a way of breaking the citizens in to full subjugation

Some papers are far more reliable than others The Mail, the Express, the Mirror and the Sun don’t qualify as newspapers for me. I wouldn’t even use them as toilet paper.

"Government censorship, you get the chop if you try to tell the truth or question government policies or decisions or scrutinise their actions.

Same with daily briefings , using a mute button to cut people off from asking questions."

This

"get over it. "

What we see here is a common example of 'I've run out of arguments so I've started projecting'
